Welcome to the inaugural Run The Roost Trail Race.
Welcome to Dolorosa Race Co.’s spring event, Run The Roost Trail Race! We are excited you are interested in our event and we hope to see you in April! Rocky Face Ridge Park is a beautiful park in Dalton, GA. This race will be held on an amazing 10-mile loop. Boasting nearly 2,000 feet of elevation gain per loop, this is a great, runnable course, with race lengths for everyone! There is a one-loop, three-loop, and five-loop race, so whether you are looking to run 10 miles, 50 kilometers, or 50 miles; we are sure this course will challenge you while also leaving you with a breathtaking view each time you summit the roost!
This is the perfect event to bring your family and friends to as well. Throughout the day, spectators and crew can participate in different events, toss some cornhole, and there’s even a pond to fish in near the pavilion.
There will be one main aid station during the loop. It will be stocked with water, electrolytes and gels. After each loop, you will find more food and hydration options at the pavilion. Lunch will be served to all racers running the 50k or 50-miler around 1pm and dinner will be available for the 50-milers around 6pm.

Registration
Online registration closes on 4/19/2024 at 5pm, however, to guarantee your race shirt, please sign up before 3/1/2024. Day-of registration will be on a first-come basis until the race limit is reached. The race is capped at 100 runners. If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will be on Friday, April 19th from 5:30-7:30PM, at the venue! If you are unable to make it for packet pick up on Friday, you may pick up your packet from 6:00-6:45AM on the morning of the race.
Shirts, Awards, Weather & Cutoffs
The race shirt will be a short sleeve tri-blend shirt and will include our 2024 race logo!
Finisher awards for the top male and female of each race: 10 miler, 50k and 50m.
In the event of severe weather we will delay the start as necessary to avoid lightning. If severe weather threatens the entire day and does not appear to let up, we may be forced to cancel. If we are forced to cancel, 4/27 will serve as the back-up date for the race.
Average Temperatures throughout April for Dalton: Low 45F-52F, High: 68F-75F, sounds amazing, right?!
There will be very generous cutoffs. We want everyone that is willing to keep pushing towards their goal to finish! 10 mile race: no-cut off, 50k race: 10 hour cut-off (19 minute pace), 50 mile race: 14 hours 8 minutes (17 minute pace). Trail racing is an amazing sport and we want to give the best experience to everyone, including your crew and our volunteers! Racing a 50k or 50m race is a serious undertaking, so please sign up accordingly.
There are no refunds after 12/31/2023, transferring your registration to a different runner is allowed on a case-by-case basis after 12/31 and there is no guarantee of shirt size availability for the transferee. We do not mail shirts or medals to participants unable to make the event.

Clean Water Donation
A portion of each race registration will be donated to AMG International to provide water filtration services to those who do not have access to clean water. It is our goal to provide 100 people with access to clean water through this event! Any donation you would like to make beyond your race registration will be given directly to AMG international to help fight water crisis around the world.
