En las tierras de la Sierra Tarahumara los pueblos Rarámuri tienen un proverbio: “Cuando corres sobre la Tierra y con la Tierra puedes correr para siempre” – ven, corre para siempre. Las Barrancas del Cobre fueron sede del Campeonato Mexicano para el Campeonato Mundial por Equipos de Backyard 2020 y presenciaron una carrera increíble en la que atletas locales rarámuri recorrieron más de 60 vueltas en un recorrido que tenía más de 9,000 pies de elevación y tenía demasiada ganancia de elevación en cada vuelta. Ese rumbo ya pasó a la historia y se ha establecido un lugar mucho más favorable para seguir adelante. Correrás al fondo de un sistema de cañones que es más profundo y ancho que el Gran Cañón de EE. UU. El recorrido de ida y vuelta sigue a lo largo del Río Urique con vistas mágicas en todas direcciones. En diciembre el clima debería ser ideal, sin lluvia y con temperaturas perfectas durante el día y la noche, brindándote todas las oportunidades para cumplir y superar tus objetivos. Los Corredores Rarámuri son conocidos por su capacidad para correr grandes distancias, y este evento contará con algunos de los mejores atletas de toda la Sierra. In the lands of the Sierra Tarahumara the Raramuri peoples have a proverb: "When you run on the Earth and with the Earth you can run forever" - come run forever.  The Copper Canyons hosted the Mexican Championship for the 2020 Backyard Team World Championships and saw an amazing race that featured local Raramuri athletes go over 60 loops on a course that was over 9,000 ft elevation and had way too much elevation gain each loop.  That course is now retired to history, and a venue much more favorable to going long has been established. You will run at the bottom of a Canyon system that is deeper and wider than the US Grand Canyon. The out-and-back course follows along the Rio Urique with magical views in every direction. December the weather should be ideal with no rain and perfect day and night temperatures, giving you every chance to meet and exceed your goals. Raramuri Corredores are known for their ability to run great distances, and this event will feature some of the best of the best athletes from throughout the Sierra. Come run with these inspiring runners and come run forever.

DETALLES - DETAILS

Este es un evento clasificatorio mundial de Backyard Ultra y, como tal, seguirá las reglas y regulaciones de la Organización Backyard Ultra (www.backyardultra.com) según se requiera. Cada bucle es de ida y vuelta por un total de 4,1667 millas. Todos los corredores tienen exactamente una hora para completar el bucle y estar en el corral para comenzar el siguiente bucle ("patio").

Los corredores deben estar parados en el corral de la línea de salida cuando comience el siguiente bucle. Si estás fuera del corral, no puedes continuar. No se permiten comienzos tardíos una vez que ha comenzado la hora. Las yardas continuarán hasta que solo quede un corredor. En ese momento, el último corredor debe completar un bucle por su cuenta. Si pueden completar el ciclo, esa persona es la ganadora. Todos los demás corredores se consideran No Terminados (DNF).
Habrá notificaciones en el minuto 3, 2, 1 antes de cada Yarda. Debes estar en el corral cuando suene el silbato de salida final.

Una vez que hayas comenzado, debes avanzar en el recorrido y no puedes abandonar el recorrido más que para usar el baño. Una vez que finaliza un circuito, los corredores pueden hacer lo que quieran, pero deben estar de vuelta en el corral antes de que suene la campana.

Tenemos una opción de 'Automantenimiento' (solo se proporciona agua y algo de fruta) o "Ayuda incluida" que ofrece 3 comidas diarias además de la fruta y el agua. Todas las demás necesidades deben ser cubiertas por el corredor..

This is a Backyard Ultra World Qualifying event and as such will follow the rules, regulations of the Backyard Ultra Organization (www.backyardultra.com) as required. Each loop is and out-n-back totaling 4.1667 miles All runners have exactly one-hour to complete the loop and be in the corral to begin the next loop ("yard").

Runners must be standing in the start line corral when the next loop starts. If you are out of the corral, you can not continue. No late starts are allowed once the hour has began. The Yards will continue until only one runner remains. At that point, the last Runner must complete a loop on their own. If they can complete the loop then that person is the winner. All other runners are considered Did Not Finish (DNF).

There will be notifications at 3,2,1 minute prior to each Yard. You must be in the corral when the final start whistle is blown.

Once started you must make forward movement on the course and you cannot leave the course other than to use the bathroom. Once a loop is finished, runners can do what they want, but must be back in the corral before the bell rings.

We have an option for 'Self-Supported' (only water and some fruit provided) or "Aid Included' which offers 3 meals daily in addition to the fruit and water. All other needs must be met by the runner.

ALOJAMIENTO Y TRANSPORTE - LODGING AND TRANSPORTATION

**Además de su registro para la carrera, estaremos ofreciendo transporte y alojamiento con todo incluido (¡a pasos de la línea de salida!) para el evento. Después de seleccionar su evento, habrá una opción para agregar una opción de transporte y alojamiento. Los paquetes incluyen transportación redonda de Chihuahua a Urique el 30 de noviembre (permitiendo un día completo de descanso en Urique antes de la carrera) con regreso el 4 y 6 de diciembre. El alojamiento está ubicado en la línea de salida/meta de la carrera (en Entre Amigos, uno de los albergues más hermosos y famosos del mundo) y estará disponible para usted durante la duración del evento, lo que le brinda acceso rápido a un lugar tranquilo para descansar y recuperarse cuando lo desee. **In addition to your race registration we will be offering all-inclusive transportation and lodging (steps from the startline!) for the event. After selecting your event there will be an option to add a transportation and lodging choice. The packages include round trip transportation from Chihuahua to Urique on November 30th (allowing a full day of rest in Urique before the run) with returns on both December 4th and December 6th. The lodging is located at the race start/finish line (at Entre Amigos one of the world's most beautiful and famed hostels) and will be available to you throughout the duration of the event giving you quick access to a quiet place to rest and recover when desired. Entre Amigos offers private or shared rooms, dorm bunks, and camping space. In addition the venue has two common kitchens, an organic garden and 17 types of tropical fruit for you to enjoy so no need to pack anything extra unless desired

Este evento es para honrar y apoyar a la comunidad local de corredores Raramuri. El evento está coordinado por True Messages, una organización sin fines de lucro 501c3 con un personal 100% voluntario. Debido a la lejanía de la Sierra Tarahumara y los recursos mínimos de muchos atletas locales, es muy difícil viajar para un evento de esta naturaleza, por lo que esperamos que elijas venir a correr con nosotros aquí en las Barrancas del Cobre e inspirarte y ¡ser inspirado!

This event is to honor and support the local Raramuri running community. The event is coordinated by True Messages a 501c3 nonprofit with a 100% volunteer staff. Due to the remoteness of the Sierra Tarahumara and the minimal resources of many local athletes it is very challenging to travel for an event of this nature, so our hope is that you will choose to come run with us here in the Copper Canyons and inspire and be inspired!
