Calling all volunteers! We always need fantastic volunteers and we have a volunteer program to help save you some dough. Volunteers who work a 5 hour shift will receive free entry into a future RunningLane Event 1/2 Marathon distance and shorter. Volunteers who work (2) 5 hour shifts or (1) 8+ hour shift will receive free entry into a future RL Event 50 Miler and down OR (2) races 1/2 marathon and down. Lost Falls 10K / Half Marathon / 50K

Please remember that all RunningLane Events trail races are "cupless races." You must have a hand held bottle, pack or or reusable cup as there won't be any paper cups at the aid stations to cut down on waste. If you don't have a reusable cup, there is the option to buy a RunningLane reusable cup at checkout for $5.

From the same directors of Eagle Ridge, Grand Viduta Stage Race, Wade Mountain & Wild Thangs Trail Series, River Monster Trail Run, Cathedral Caverns Trail Run, we are excited to bring the first ultra to Desoto State Park! Desoto State Park is a magnificent 3,500+ acre park with over 30 miles of single track trails! Desoto State Park is one of the most beautiful state parks in the entire southeast. There are TONS of water falls, creek crossings, bluff views and more.

Registration

The race is capped at 350 runners.

All runners who sign up for the Lost Falls 10K, Half Marathon & 50K will receive a t-shirt, and finisher medal as well as a hot meal post race!

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup will be on Friday, March 1st at Fleet Feet Sports Huntsville from 12pm - 5pm. Fleet Feet is located at 2722 Carl T Jones Dr SE B2, Huntsville, AL 35802. Packets may also be picked up the morning of the race (near the Country Store / Information Center: 7104 Desoto Pkwy NE, Fort Payne, AL 35967) from 6:30am - 7:45am but we encourage you to get there as early as possible!

Shirts, Awards, Weather & Cutoffs

The race shirt will be a short sleeve tri-blend shirt.

Age groups will be: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-30, 40-49, 50-59, 60+for ALL races.

In the event of severe weather we will delay the start as necessary to avoid lightening. If severe weather threatens the entire day and does not appear to let up, we may be forced to cancel.

Average Temperatures on race day: High 64F, Low 40F

There will be very loose cutoffs in the 10K and 1/2 Marathon. Our goal is to get more and more people into this awesome sport that is trail running, no matter what your experience level is. However, we would suggest that if you are not able to maintain 14 minute miles for 50K, that you please consider doing the 10K or 1/2 Marathon. There will be a hard cutoff of 15:28 mi/pace for the 50K which works out to be 8 hours.

There are no refunds, deferrals, credits or friend / family transfers on entries. We do not mail shirts or medals to participants unable to make the event as left over shirts are donated.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will have water & Gatorade. There will be a trash bag provided for you to throw your cups/trash away. Please do not take the water cups or trash down the trail with you. Your mom will not be there to pick up after you and we want to be respectful to the race event staff, volunteers, park etc. We will also have a hodge podge of individually wrapped snacks (pretzels, cakes, crackers, candy etc). the 50K aid stations only will have coke.

10K: 3.6mi, 5.9mi
Half Marathon: 3.6mi, 7.1mi, 8.5mi, 10.8mi
50K: 3.6mi, 9.2mi, 10.8mi, 13.0, 16.5, 18.9, 20.6, 26.2

Lodging

The best place to stay in the area is at Desoto State Park. They have beautiful cabins, mountain chalets, log cabins, state park lodge, campground RV sites, primitive camping and more! Be sure to mention that you are traveling to the area to run the LOST FALLS TRAIL RUN!
