About the Elkhorn Relay
Welcome to the 11th annual ELKHORN RELAY!
RUNOR Racing Co. is carrying on an Eastern Oregon favorite, giving you the opportunity to explore some of the most gorgeous country in the Pacific Northwest with your 6-person relay team!
Your 81-mile adventure will start at Hilgard Junction State Park where racers will head south on old Highway 244, running along the Grande Ronde River. Once the highway leaves the river you will come to the first of many challenging climbs to work your way into the backcountry, beginning a 20+ mile section of scenic gravel mountain roads. From here you'll begin to catch glimpses of the awe-inspiring Elkhorn mountains looming to the south as you climb up the backside of Anthony Lakes, reaching an altitude of 7,400 feet! Each member of the team will finish the course with a breathtaking trail leg at the ski resort.
With 6 friends, 6,000 feet of elevation gain, and a million ways to make memories, you'll come back to the ELKHORN RELAY again and again!

Official start times will be sent out in the weeks leading up to the race but for the sake of planning here are some estimated times to help you with planning:
Teams running 10:00 minute/mile average:
Approximate Start Time 5:00am + Approximate Finish Time 7:30pm
Teams running a 9:00 minute/mile average:
Approximate Start Time 7:00am + Approximate Finish Time 7:30pm
Teams running a 8:00 minute/mile average:
Approximate Start Time 8:00am + Approximate Finish Time 7:00pm
Teams running a 7:00 minute/mile average:
Approximate Start Time 9:00am + Approximate Finish Time 6:30pm
Pricing
It pays to register early! As this is a very complex event requiring considerable planning, early registration is key to making your experience at the Elkhorn the best it can be.
