Mt. Diablo Training Run

Our spring training runs continue on Saturday, March 23rd, 9am at Mt. Diablo (Macedo Ranch Staging Area)! As always, we look forward to gathering with runners of all ability levels for a fun day of adventure running on Mt. Diablo.

You can expect a classic Broken Arrow gathering, complete with multiple distance routes as well as product demos, friendly and encouraging fun, and a full aid-station celebration feast afterwards.

All course options will be posted on our Strava club page closer to the event.

With apologies to our friends in Marin, there is simply no better place (in the Bay Area) to prepare for the Broken Arrow Skyrace, and we cannot wait to welcome you to our "training hill." Even if you aren't running Broken Arrow, please consider joining us...and bring a friend or two!

The run will start at 9am at Macedo Ranch Staging Area in Alamo. The park gates open at 8am, and there is limited parking. We STRONGLY encourage you to arrive at 8 am AND to carpool, if at all possible. Please also be sure to bring $6 for parking (cash is easier, but they do accept checks…no credit cards). Getting there early also means that you will have a chance to try out the latest demo shoes from Salomon, poles from LEKI and more. And, of course, if you have ever joined us for one of these runs, you will know that our raffles are LEGENDARY! We will have some sweet prizes from our friends at Salomon, Garmin, Leki, and Darn Tough Vermont Socks...and, of course, plenty of Broken Arrow swag.

After the raffle, we will run up Mt. Diablo! Please note that there will be no aid stations or supplies EXCEPT at the start, so please be sure to bring a hydration pack or two water bottles.

As we always say, at The Broken Arrow Skyrace, we don't care if you finish first or last…YOU are a rockstar. Well, the same thing goes for our training runs. Runners of all paces are absolutely welcome and we even have a shorter route (5-6 miles) for those who aren't up for the whole enchilada (about 14 miles with over 4,000 ft of vert).

After the run, we will enjoy drinks and munchies...and some quality hang-time with our trail running community. We have a fantastic relationship with the rangers at Mount Diablo State Park. Unfortunately, California State Park rules prohibit the consumption of alcohol. BUT we will have non-alcoholic beer, courtesy of our friends at Best Day Brewing (as well as soda, water, etc) AND a full aid station spread where we pull no punches and have an epic post-event feed prepared for you.
