NEW THIS YEAR! HIKE-A-HALF
This year, the Taskinas Creek Half Marathon will be a "no frills" event. I am referring to it as a Hike-a-Half race and the goal is to be inclusive, rather than competitive. This new twist allows me to keep entry fees low, but still offer a great, memorable event! I am considering other "Hike-a-Half" events during the year if this race goes well, so let's make that happen!

FAQ:
Do I have to hike? I would prefer to run.
NO! You are competing as much or as little as you want. You are also competing with yourself! It is a tough race and just finishing is a victory. If you are speedy and you want to challenge yourself- go for it!
Why are you doing this race as "no frills"?
Costs continue to rise. I want to keep events affordable. Not everyone wants a T-shirt and a medal- it is a personal choice.
Will everyone get a finisher medal?
I will have finisher medals available. If you prefer not to grab one, you can skip it!
Can I buy a T-shirt on race day?
Not necessarily. These will be limited, but I will have previous year's T-shirts for sale as well. The T-shirt dealine is May 17th and after this date I will put inventory on the registration page and when they are gone they are gone! T-shirts will be unisex sizes only. You CAN go back into your registration later and add a T-shirt if you ar enot sure yet.
Any swag?
I will have some previous year's swag that you can grab at the finish if you want it. First finishers will have the first crack at these items!
Race Information
The course will include a final 2 miles that are epic and tough! Registration is limited to 250 registrants. The course will include single track trails, fire road type trails and a short road portion. Time limit for the race is 5 hours (some wiggle room here). More you should know!
If you register for this event, you are registering for a MOSTLY trail surface half marathon. You are registering for a SMALL, LOW KEY half marathon. You are registering for a HOT WEATHER half marathon, although much of the course will be shaded. You are registering for an AWESOME half marathon! The course will be well marked and the aid stations will have half marathon fueling foods, water and electrolytes. Aid Stations will be located at the following mile markers: 3.1, 6.5, 10.5 (these are approximate).
Packet pick up will start at 6:30am, race day only. No race day registration!
Course Info
The trail is a mixture of surfaces, over half single track mountain bike trail. About 1 mile of pavement and the remainder dirt fire-type road. Elevation is around 600ft. Rolling terrain and some nice flat single track too. The course features many scenic views throughout!
T-shirt deadline!
The T-shirt ordering deadline is Friday, May 17th. After this date, shirts are first come first serve, REMEMBER: T-shirts are NOT inclued in registration and must be added manually at checkout if you want one!
