Leaders of the Pack

Leaders of the Pack is a 8-hour cross country ultra race held along the scenic Unega Mountain Dog Rescue property. Unega is Idaho's only livestock guardian dog rescue and sanctuary. We rescue abused and abandoned working Great Pyrenees, Akbash, and Anatolian dogs across Idaho and others. Idaho has these wonderful dogs listed as "livestock animals," and as such are not protected in any right in Idaho: that's why we exist. It's what we fight for.

The course is a 4.15 mile loop with a 496 foot elevation gain that starts right at the gates of Unega Mountain Dog Rescue. The LOTP race is a looped course, with a lap starting every hour on the hour for six hours straight. If you do not complete a loop within an hour, you will not continue on to the next hour's start.

Leaders of the Pack is about testing your limits, doing more than you thought you could; it's the mentality we push ourselves here at Unega with, and we want you to as well. As so, there could be one finisher, there could be ten: at the end of eight hours that choice will have been up to YOU. You will have gone more than 33 miles and gained 496 feet eight times: Now that's a LEADER.

Every registration and store purchase goes directly to the care of these extraordinary, big white guardian dogs we rescue and those living with us forever in our sanctuary.

Thank you for checking out our race, we know it will be a brutally fun 8 hours and we can't wait to see you there! And who knows, there just might be a big white guardian waiting for you at the finish line.

The timing will be kept by Competitive Timing.
