Course & Race Information
I cannot emphasize how mostly runnable and beautiful this course is. 13.1 mile figure 8 loop
2 full aid stations &2 water drops
6 miler is a loop that has one aid station & water drop
Elevation gain is approximately 1,400- 1,500 (readings have varied)
50 mile cutoff is 14 hours
Runners believing this may be too tight for them to be able to finish in time are welcome to take an hour early start but will be ineligible for any podium placement.
Marathon cutoff 12 hours
50 mile runners can have a pacer AFTER 26 miles. So starting loop 3 you are allowed a pacer.
*Course Description update- to clarify. The first 5 miles of the 13 mile loop more closely resembles a true trail. Alternating between single track and double track. The 6 mile loop encounters this for approximately the first 1.5 miles. It has long stretches of mostly flat and fast so if you were looking for a non-technical course a side from the creek crossings. This trail is rolling with a few long climbs so it can be deceptive. Consisting of mostly double track logging road and multiple creek crossings. This is a trail race. It is not crushed gravel or completely flat although very runnable throughout most of the course. Trails are typically a bit more rolling down below alongside bodies of water and flatter on the ridge lines up top. However this isn’t always true. Be aware trail conditions can always change so to weather, water or time of year.

About Us & Our Mission
Swan Conservation Trust is a passionate, community-driven organization committed to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty and ecological health of our local lands. Dedicated to conservation, the all-volunteer organization works tirelessly to protect the diverse ecosystems within the headwaters of Big Swan and Big Bigsby Creeks of the Western Highland Rim, safeguarding its lush woods, enchanting springs, and thriving wildlife for present and future generations.
Our team is thrilled to host our first annual trail running event, a remarkable rendezvous of nature enthusiasts and runners. This exciting event not only promotes fitness and an appreciation for nature, but it also serves as our primary fundraiser for land conservation efforts. Participants will traverse scenic trails, running alongside serene creeks, and pass through majestic, towering trees nudged by the gentle sway of the wind. It's a chance to compete, connect, and contribute all at once!
All funds raised from this event will be channeled directly into expanding Big Swan Headwaters Preserve through land acquisitions, as well as maintaining, marking, and building trails for public access. Further work is dedicated to ensuring the headwaters, natural wildlife habitats they offer, and health of local flora remain available for generations to come.
By joining our event, participants do more than just experience the captivating beauty of Big Swan Creek's headwaters, woods, and wildlife; they become advocates for its preservation, contributing directly to ongoing conservation efforts. We believe that every step taken on our trails brings us one step closer to a sustainable and bright future for Big Swan Creek.
Join us on this extraordinary journey to make a tangible difference while discovering the subtle, yet profound, charm of nature.
