Event Details
Year four and getting better each year! The only timed event of its kind in the greater Capital District of New York State; Flutters and Foliage Endurance Race is THE destination for your fall running goals. Whether you want to move past the marathon and dip your toe into the cool, refreshing waters of the “ultra” world, spend a couple hours on an enjoyable jog though the colorful foliage of October in Upstate, or get some friends together for a relay event - this event has you covered!
Where else can you walk away with an amazing swag bag, an ultra buckle (ANYONE who covers more than 26.2 miles), and wobbly legs all for under $100?! Each year we celebrate runners who earn their first buckle, and at the same time we see dozens of others reach personal best milestones. Every single runner leaves feeling like they belong to a community and that is why we have over a 33% return rate over the past three years.
For those that want a challenge - 6 hour solo event
For those who have friends as crazy as they are - 6 hour relay events
Those looking to push themselves - 3 hour solo event
Those looking to support a good cause - 1 hour solo event
As you can see there is an option for everyone so the only question you need to answer is which one are you signing up for this year and what can wait until next year?

What is Flutters of Hope?
Flutters of Hope Inc is a non profit organization that helps individuals and families affected by eating disorders. Disordered eating can come in many forms and is one of the most under-diagnosed diseases in America. The outcome of an undiagnosed disorder can be lethal, however with treatment recovery can be full, complete, and rewarding. Treatment does not come cheap and most insurances will not cover the all-encompassing needs of the patient - enter Flutters of Hope.
Why an Ultra as a fundraiser?
Distance runners are often misdiagnosed or under-diagnosed as an eating disorder patient due to the demands of their sport. Data shows that 1 in 4 adult males have some form of an eating disorder and in the female population that is doubled to 1 in 2. It is a guarantee that you have toed the starting line with at least one person suffering. The aim of this event is to help raise awareness and connect those who need it with the services and networking of providers that Flutters of Hope, INC has.
