Race Description
The Grasslands Trail Run is held in the Lyndon B. Johnson National Grasslands, more than 20,000 acres managed by the U.S. Forest Service and situated north of Fort Worth. The trails loop among rolling hills and through a mixture of pine and oak grove forests, open fields, and livestock.
The race uses a series of trails that start and finish at TADRA Point Trailhead. The half marathon uses the blue trail; the marathon uses the white and blue trails; and 100-mile and 50-mile runners use the blue, white, yellow and red trails. The 15K (Sunday) will use the yellow trail. The course map shows all loops with aid stations marked.
Full race Information can be found on our website: https://grasslandstrailrun.com/race-details/
This race is held on equestrian trails. Elevation gain for the 100 miler is a gentle 4,000 feet and trails are non-technical. Participants in the 100 Mile will have a 30-hour cut-off. We believe this is the perfect 100 mile to complete in under 30 hours, or get a new PR.
Runners in the 50-mile, Marathon and Half Marathon will have generous cutoffs. Runners in the 15K will have a 3.5 hour cutoff, the same time the 100 mile distance finishes on Sunday.
