Location
Tickfaw State Park is a place where adventure and nature come together. Spend the night exploring the trails under the stars, or sit back on the porch of your cabin and listen to the sounds of the swamp come alive after dark.
Be sure to stop by the Nature Center to check out scheduled programs and explore the 800-gallon aquarium, featuring fish native to the Tickfaw River. The Nature Center also offers displays highlighting the wildlife, history, and culture of the surrounding area and Louisiana.
Tickfaw State Park allows visitors to experience four unique ecosystems along more than a mile of elevated boardwalks. Take in the sights and sounds of a cypress-tupelo swamp, bottomland hardwood forest, mixed pine-hardwood forest, and the Tickfaw River.
This is Louisiana wilderness at its finest—and we can’t wait for you to experience it.
Course
The course will be a 4-mile trail loop featuring:
* Gum Cypress Trail
* Pine Hardwood Trail
* River Overlook / Bottomland Hardwood Trail

Throughout the course, you’ll experience the beauty of Tickfaw State Park while running alongside the river and through its diverse ecosystems.
This is the swamp, and the swamp is alive!
Poisonous snakes, alligators, and other wildlife may be present on or near the trails. While encounters are uncommon, you are running in their natural habitat, so stay alert, be aware of your surroundings, and respect the wildlife.
