Moccasin 24 Hour Run
Get ready to run as many miles as you'd like in the Moccasin 24 hour run. The course will be a 4 mile loop on the Wolf River Trails in Memphis, TN. Once we start the run, the clock will tick down from 24 hours all the way to zero, which will end the run. You are welcome to run as many miles as you can, as fast or slow as you want, and at whatever pace or time you want. We will have a large canopy tent with walls up at the Start/Finish line where we will all gather under and hang out. This is where you'll rest before you run again. You are welcome to bring your own canopy tent and personal aid station as well. You can start at any time during the 24-hour window so if you don't make it for the start of the race, then you can still show up 3 hours later and jump in the run. What better way to end the year by running some big miles. Can you run 100 miles under 24 hours? Can you run 52 miles and earn a buckle? How good are you at finding presents hidden on the trails? Come see the trails alive at night with Christmas lights and decorations. (all lights are battery operated so there is only so much we can do). Come hang out and sit by our bonfire, eat smores, and tell Christmas stories all night.
24 hour run starts at 3pm. We did this so you will be fresh for the hardest part of the race (the long and cold night-time hours). If you can make it til sunrise then you'll know the day will only become brighter and warmer as you run the last 8 hours of your race. Mentally, this should help you finish your run strong.
A Trail Run to Remember
We want to make this run fun, memorable, and one that you plan to come back for every year. Here are a few highlights about the Moccasin 24.
Christmas lights and decorations - The 4 mile loop will have quite a bit of Christmas lights and decorations all along the trails. It will most definitely make running at night more enjoyable.
24 hour run Hidden Presents - there will be numerous hidden presents along the trails. Before you go out for a loop, you will be presented with a clue that tells you where the present is. If you find it, it's yours. All presents found will be small enough for you to pick up and carry back with you to the Start line. Each time you come back to the Start line, you will be given a new clue. The clues will start off very hard and they will get easier as the night goes on
Drop Bag
You can keep your personal drop bag at the start/finish line and access it every 4 miles. Please plan accordingly with the weather and have the appropriate clothing necessary. Please pack any special Nutrition or Hydration needs to complete your run.
