Race Details

Join us for a beautiful trail 10K at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park. The course begins with a rough 600 foot gain in the first two miles up Papertown Express, followed by rolling hills through the brand new Old Timer trail. Don't miss the amazing fall views before you scream through the downhill return to the finish line!

All proceeds from this fundraising event will be used to support NCMTR and the Chestnut Mountain Foundation.

Chestnut Mountain Nature Park

Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy purchased the 450-acre Chestnut Mountain property in 2020 in an ambitious endeavor to pair permanent protection of habitat and water resources with creation of a conservation-friendly, community-centric space for outdoor recreation. The Town of Canton engaged Equinox Environmental to lead a master planning process for the park, including community input sessions, and Elevated Trail Design worked on trail design for the property. Seth Alvo, creator of the Berm Peak YouTube channel and Seth’s Bike Hacks, galvanized his followers to support development of Berm Park — a mountain biking oasis and park-within-a-park at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park.

Event logistics

Parking will be on-site, supported by the Town of Canton. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to pick up your bib and prepare for the race.

Timing for this event will be manual. This means that the bibs will not be chipped, but will be needed for visual confirmation of your finish. Be sure to wear your number visibly for the entire race. Don't worry, you won't be breaking your 10K PR on this one.

There will be one aid station at the intersection of the lollipop course, first passed at mile 1.5 then at mile 4.6. Water and light snacks will be provided, as well as backcountry medical support.

This is a dog friendly race. Feel free to being your leashed, well-behaved pup to participate with you.

Rain Day

Circumstances such as weather or trail closures may require rescheduling of the event. We have reserved Sunday, November 17th as the make-up day in the event that we need to postpone the event. Notice of rescheduling will be emailed to all participants as soon as the decision is made.

Event's current local time: 1:05 PM ET
