The FarFetched Invitational is a new trail running event at Mendon Ponds Park on June 21, 2025.
Location, Parking & Schedule
Race HQ is at the Canfield Woods shelter in Mendon Ponds Park. Parking is in the East / Beach Lot right next to the shelter.
8:00 AM - Check-in opens @ Canfield Woods shelter.
8:50 AM - Check-in closes.
9:00 AM - Event Preparation Phase begins.
10:00 AM - Event begins.
11:00 AM - Event ends. Post-race merriment begins @ Canfield Woods shelter
Why do you keep saying "event"?
One of the key features of the FarFetched Invitational is uncertainty. The one thing it will never be is a traditional point-to-point foot race. Each year will be a different, trail running based event. We'll provide some basic parameters, but details will be sparse until the Event Preparation Phase. The basic parameters for the 2025 FarFetched Invitational are as follows:
- The event will be on the trails of Mendon Ponds Park
- The event will last an hour
What makes it an invitational?
The second key feature of the FarFetched Invitational is that it serves as a point of reflection and celebration of the past year of events. As such, participants and volunteers from the past 12 months of FarFetched events will be invited to participate. For the 2025 FarFetched Invitational, this includes:
Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
But will there be winners?
You'll all be winners!! But yes, the third key feature of the FarFetched Invitational is that there is a special award up for grabs. It may not necessarily go to the swiftest of foot or the keenest of eye, so it just might be your lucky day.
