Festivus: For the Rest of Us

Kick Off the Holiday Season with Our Epic 100-Mile Trail Race!
Get ready to usher in the holiday season with a bang at the 3rd annual event featuring our brand-new 100 miler! This isn’t just any race; it's the longest trail race in North East Florida and the first ever 100-mile trail race in the region's history!
And if you’re a Seinfeld fan, you’ll be in for a treat! Our charismatic race director, Mike Martinez, will keep you laughing with his hilarious one-liners and megaphone shout-outs. We take fun seriously and abide by Rule 62: Don’t take yourself too damn seriously!
Join us and make history on this unforgettable trail adventure!

Course Description

We will run a scenic 7-mile loop with 225 feet of elevation gain/loss. You can choose to run 14, 7, 5, or 2 loops, enjoying long leaf pines, palmettos, various wildlife (deer, birds, squirrels), and two footbridges. 100 milers and 50 milers will do a short out-and-back at the finish for their full mileage. Runners starting a new loop after 5pm must have a headlamp. Course markings will be clear and illuminated. Drop-downs are allowed (e.g., from 100 miler to 50 miler) but no awards for dropped divisions.

RD POLICY: We have a strict #wontgetlost policy. We treat you like family during our events, which is why RD Mike Martinez (Sober Sombrero Runner) ensures the course is heavily marked for your safety. We care about your well-being and do not want you to get lost.

Pacers

100 milers can have a pacer after 49 miles. Runners over 60 years old can have a pacer at any time. You can ONLY HAVE 1 Pacer at a time!

No pacers for the 14/35/50-mile distances. Our permit requires us to minimize impact to the trail and additional bodies equal more impact.

Any pacer exceptions will be decided by the Race Director on a case-by-case basis.

Parking / Tent Set Up

Parking is available in the main lot. Campsites are in the Hammock Campground; see the Campsite Section for details. No vehicle parking inside the complex this year to allow more space in Runners Village, but tents/canopies can be set up along the racecourse. You will need to transport your gear from the parking lot, just a few hundred feet away. Reserved areas near the start/finish line are on a first-come, first-served basis. 100/50 milers can begin setting up at 5:30 am on Saturday in the main pavilion area. 35 milers and 14 milers can set up canopies after 7 am post the 100/50 miler start.

Campsites (only open to 100 milers)

There are 10 Campsites that the course will run through. They are located approximately half way around the loop. There will be an aid station at in the campground as well. Sombrero Running Events have reserved all 9 sites. The sites are $30 for the weekend. You must reserve the site for the whole weekend through Sombrero Running Events. The sites will be confirmed on a first pay basis.
There are 1 sites left (as of 3/10 at 10:34am est).

Amenities

There are 2 free standing bathrooms with running water and sink and a mirror that is directly on the course ( we will also add a porta potty and some extra rocks so no one would question about how " soft " we are lol ) as well as a large pavilion with several picnic tables and 2 BBQ grills and a huge parking lot which is but a mere 100 feet from the start/ finish line. We will have a few porta potties at the Campground Aid Station area and there is also a free-standing bathroom in that area as well. There is also a WalMart 2 miles from the trailhead.

Aid Stations

This will be a CUPLESS race; bring a handheld water bottle or hydration pack. The main aid station at the start/finish line will provide water, Skratch (orange/lemon lime), and hot food like bacon, cheese quesadillas, vegan chili, burgers, and brats/sausage links. I will offer Chorizo and Eggs Breakfast burritos and may order additional food (pizza or more) from partners.

We will also have typical aid station snacks and drinks at the main station. There will be a fully stocked aid station with hot foods at the 4-mile mark (Campground Aid Station). At the 2-mile mark, an unmanned hydration station will have a replenished igloo of water throughout the day.

Buckle

Swag
