Two Hats One Mile

An endurance race to determine who will be the last person running!

Race begins at 9:00 a.m.

Big Rapids, MI

This is our first year hosting this event. The number of runners will be limited to 100. WE WILL START CONFIRMING ENTRIES April 11. Any registration requests beyond the 100 will be put on a waiting list. We reserve the right to add spots at our discretion. Although this is a competition, we highly encourage anyone 14+ who wants to run, even first timers, to participate. Every participant must be entered as a registered runner.

Registration includes: runner’s ID bracelet, T-shirt, 12x12 personal recoup space near the coral.

Proceeds from this race will be donated to Montcalm/Mecosta Youth For Christ.

The Course

The Two Hats, One Mile race will take place on a one mile loop. The course is housed on private land just 10 minutes from Big Rapids, MI. Within the one mile loop, runners will encounter a 150 feet elevation gain, woodsy trail conditions, some fast runnable sections, and a sandy downhill section through the open field to the start/finish area. This will be a Last Runner Standing event. Runners will be given 20 minutes to complete the loop and must be back in the starting corral ready to start the next loop.

Rules

-Participants must be 14+ by race day.

-If you have not registered on race day by 8:30 a.m., you are disqualified from participating.

-You must be in the Corral (past the finish line and in front of the start line) at the start of the next 20 minute loop.

-You must leave the corral at the start and proceed to take two steps past the starting line.

-Runners coming in after the 20 minute limit will be eliminated.

-Runners who fail to complete the loop will be eliminated.

-No runner may accept aid while on the course.

DECLARING A WINNER -

1. If two runners start the last loop and one does not complete it within the time limit, then the one who completed it is declared the winner ONLY AFTER he starts and completes the next loop a solo loop “VICTORY LAP” within the 20 minute time frame.

2. If two runners complete the loop, but only one chooses to continue, then the last runner must go out and complete a VICTORY LAP within the time limit in order to be declared the winner.

3. If the last runner cannot complete the loop in the time limit then there will be no winner.

Children

No unsupervised children under the age of 14. Please do not leave children unattended at any time during the event. We encourage children who are accompanying race participants to stay within the 12x12 area designated for that participant. If they are not able to remain in this designated area, there will be other marked areas for spectators.

Spectators

We encourage spectators and visitors!

Each runner may have no more than 3 additional people in his/her 12x12 recoup space to serve as their crew.

Additional spectators may be in designated spectator areas only.

Sorry, NO PETS.

No exceptions. Runners inform your friends, family and crew of this rule. It is non negotiable.

Refunds

Sorry, We DO NOT issue refunds or rollovers. If you cannot make the event or do not complete registration in the given time, your registration fee will be donated.
