Inaugural Dewey Beach 100 Miler and 24-Hour Run
For those who crave the raw essence of ultrarunning—no frills, no fanfare, just you and the miles—the Inaugural Dewey Beach 100 Miler and 24-Hour Run delivers an experience that’s refreshingly real. Set in the breezy, beachside town of Dewey Beach, Delaware, this grassroots ultra strips away the noise and focuses on what matters most: endurance, community, and the pure joy of running long.
Here’s your rare chance to log miles alongside one of the sport’s greats—Mike Wardian—just weeks before he takes on the legendary Hardrock 100 in Colorado. With only 23 spots available, this is an intimate test of endurance for purists who run for passion, not podiums. Whether you're chasing 100 miles or pushing yourself for a full 24 hours, this minimalist event offers the ultimate blend of personal challenge and legendary company.
Course Description
The route? Simple. Brutal. Beautiful. Runners will complete a 1-mile out-and-back road loop, starting and finishing at Dewey Beer Co.. That’s it. One mile down, one mile back. Repeat. Again and again—until you hit 100 miles or the 24-hour cutoff hits you first.
This setup is perfect for self-support and mental toughness. You’ll pass your gear, your hydration, and your fellow runners every mile, keeping the vibe strong and the motivation flowing. It's a deceptively fast course with zero elevation gain—ideal for testing how far you can go when nothing stands in your way but your own limits.
Aid Stations and Support
This is a fully self-supported race. There are no aid stations, no pacers, and no crew areas beyond what you set up for yourself. Come prepared with everything you’ll need: hydration, fuel, lighting, extra shoes, layers, and most importantly—mental grit.
You’re welcome to set up your own personal aid station near the start/finish at Dewey Beer Co., which you’ll pass every mile. There may be shared water or basic supplies on hand, but assume nothing. This event is for runners who are ready to rely on themselves and each other.
Runner Experience
The Dewey Beach 100 is free, low-key, and all heart. There’s no chip timing, no finisher medals, and no fanfare—just a pure ultrarunning experience, shared with a tight crew of 23 trail-hardened souls. And yes, Mike Wardian will be out there with you—logging miles, dropping wisdom, and sharing in the grind before he heads out to take on Hardrock in the Colorado high country.
Expect good vibes, beach-town charm, and a camaraderie that’s hard to find at larger, commercialized events. Between laps, refuel, rest, or hang out at Dewey Beer Co., where the community atmosphere is just as strong as the beer.
