Climb Aboard The Chile Express!

Prepare your climbing legs for a trip on the "Chile Express" vertical ascent, destination: Enlightenment! This challenging yet, super fun course begins with a roughly 2,000' climb straight up the Mountain and then joins in with the Enlightenment Trail for an exhilarating descent on the Singletrack back down to the Start/Finish at Angel Fire Resort.

Course Preview

The Start/Finish is located at the base of Chile Express, just behind the lift. Your race route will be a CCW Loop starting up the gravel service road while periodically using the ski line until topping out. We will have a water stop aid station at the Summit of your climb. This station will also have some Carbs Fuel 25g Gels in case you need some sugar before beginning your descent on the Enlightenment Trail.

The course will be marked with YELLOW flagging and directional signage. The ground flags will be line-of-sight on the climb so be sure to check occasionally to make sure you’re taking the most direct route. The GPX file and course preview can be found here:

Trail Stewardship

We take great pride in the preservation of trail systems used during the event and conduct necessary trail maintenance prior to the event, as well as sweeping the courses to ensure no trash is left behind and that the trails are in great shape for future adventurers.

A portion of your entry fee will be donated to: Enchanted Circle Trails Association.

The Enchanted Circle Trails Association (ECTA) develops, maintains, and promotes trails in the Enchanted Circle region of Northern New Mexico.

They are dedicated to the creation of a regional trail system as envisioned by the community-developed Enchanted Circle Trails Plan to positively affect community health and increase economic development through recreation — all to help improve the quality of life in the region for local residents.

Refund Policy

*21 Days or more prior to the Event: 50% rollover credit of registration fee
(excluding UltraSignup fees).

Less than 21 days prior to the Event: No refunds or credit given.

To request credits, log in to your UltraSignup account, and go to "Registration History" and select Edit Event.

Packet Pickup: Race Morning only.
Friday Evening social at Elevated Pour from 5:30-7PM (3365 Mountain View Blvd).
Saturday Morning at Race Headquarters from 6:45-7:15AM. We’ll be set up on the deck located right near the Lift. You’ll see our arch and hear the music ??

Parking:
Lots of parking opportunities near the Start/Finish. The Resort has multiple large gravel parking lots. You’ll see signs for Mountain Sports parking. There is also limited parking spaces right next to the start.

Lodging:
Angel Fire Resort is offering 25% of 2+ nights.
There is also camping opportunities for $15/night located within walking distance to the Start/Finish.
