The start line is at the Eastern Lake Trailhead off of Hwy 395 going into Watercolor.
Join us for Operation Outdoor Freedom Trailfest, presented by Dune Lakes Private Wealth Advisors.
This race started out as the Patriot’s Run & Paddle, unique to the SoWal area! It started in 2020, it was the first area event permitted during the COVID era. Many improvements have been made since that first race.
Beginning in 2025 we have partnered with Operation Outdoor Freedom and have changed the name accordingly and upgraded it to a TRAILFEST!
Operation Outdoor Freedom provides recreational opportunities to wounded veterans on Florida state forests, agricultural, and private lands. All their events feature fully equipped accommodation geared to the special needs of wounded veterans.
Courses
5k (ish) runners: Will follow the yellow loop
10k (ish) runners: Will follow the outside perimeter of the yellow loop and pick up the red loop and back to the yellow loop to finish
10 (ish) mile runners: Will follow outside perimeter of the yellow and red loops and pick up the orange loop. Follow orange back to red and yellow perimeter to finish.

The best thing about these trails is they are already marked by the Forest Department. Routes will also be marked on race day.
Awards & Swag
All registered runners will receive a shirt along with finishers medal. Only those runners that are signed up by August 28th will be guaranteed a shirt. We will have some extra made up for those that register late, but remember, there is no guarantee that you will receive the official race swag.

Packet Pick-up
Packet Pick up will take place September 12, 2025, from 4-6pm.
It is strongly encouraged that you pick up your packet the night before.
There is a small pickup time in the morning prior to the race at 6:30am. The race starts promptly at 7:00am

Refund Policy
As a runner, it’s inevitable that at some point you’ll register for a race and later find out you’re unable to make it to the start line. It happens to all of us. Race registrations open months in advance, and life happens in between — injuries, work, family emergencies, and unexpected situations.
We absolutely get it — truly. Many of us have signed up for races we couldn’t attend, and we know firsthand that it’s disappointing.
However, even if the race hasn’t occurred yet, we’ve already incurred significant expenses to make the event happen. We pay taxes on registration income, secure permits, purchase insurance, and order supplies such as signage, course markings, bibs, hats, medals, and other awards. For these reasons, we are unable to offer refunds.
Transfers
While we cannot issue refunds, we can offer you the option to transfer your registration to another runner. Registered participants may transfer their bib to another runner within the designated transfer period. It is the participant’s responsibility to complete the transfer process by the posted deadlines.
