The Florida 48 is brought to you by Combat Racing and Pacer Travel, the ultimate endurance challenge—two days of grit, determination, and community in the heart of Florida’s trails. Inspired by the legendary 4x4x48 format, runners will complete 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours—a test of body and mind like no other.

The Experience:

This isn’t just a race. It’s a proving ground. Participants will gather at Shangri-La Trailhead for a weekend of running, rucking, and camaraderie under the stars. Camping is included, with hot meals, hydration support, and a challenge patch waiting for those who embrace the grind.

Friday, November 28

• Check-in: 3:00 PM
• Registration: 4:30 PM
• First Wave Start: 6:00 PM
• Second Wave Start: 8:00 PM

Sunday, November 30

• First Wave Finish: 6:00 PM
• Second Wave Finish: 8:00 PM

Monday, December 1

• All Runners and Crew Must Be Off the Campground: 11:00 AM

(Note: This is a State Park and all participants must comply with the campground rules, violators may be disqualified and removed from the race)

Two Start Times – Select Your Wave at Registration
Participants must choose either the 6 PM or 8 PM start time during sign-up.

Crew Registration:

A separate registration is required for crew members (covers camping and meals).

Course Description

This is a non-technical out-and-back trail run suitable for all levels.

Runners will exit camp and head out on a wide dirt road for approximately 0.75 miles, then turn onto the Santos Paved Bike Path for another 1.25 miles. The turnaround point is clearly marked at mile 2. From there, runners will retrace their steps back to camp for a total of 4 miles.

The route is smooth with minimal elevation and can be comfortably run in either road or trail shoes. Perfect for running or rucking.

Rucking Division Rules

Want an extra challenge? Ruck it and carry your pack every step of the way. Ruck weight checks will be conducted at check-in
Minimum Weight:

Women: 20 lbs dry

Men under 150 lbs: 20 lbs dry

Men 150 lbs and over: 30 lbs dry
(Dry = no food, water, or worn gear. Verified at check-in.)

Pack Type: Must be a backpack/ruck worn on the back—no vests or hand-carrying.

Carry It All: Ruck must stay with you for the entire race. No dropping or handoffs.

No Help: No outside assistance or weight sharing.

Shirt Orders

Register by November 1st to guarantee your event shirt. After that date, shirts will be available only while supplies last.
