Race Overview

Soaring Eagle will take you from traffic in the city to trails in the woods. The park’s easy-to-access trailheads and convenient location make Soaring Eagle Regional Park a popular destination for runners, hikers, bikers, and equestrians. Nestled in Sammamish, Washington, Soaring Eagle has an intricate network of trails, including the well-maintained Pipeline Trail. However, the park's beauty truly shines when you turn off onto one of the many small, winding trails that jut from the Pipeline; you'll enjoy well-graded trails in lush forests with enough roots and rocks to keep you on your toes. 

Course Description

There are two courses for these events. The 5km runners will complete an abbreviated version of the 10km loop. Half-marathoners will complete the 10km loop twice – double the fun! 

All distances will start out on the Pipeline trail for a nice warm-up. At around .74miles the 5k and 10k loops diverge. The 5k goes right and heads back through winding trails to the finish line. The 10k loop takes a left and gets to enjoy all the best trails in the park as it winds through the forest on mostly flat, well-graded, but rooty tread. This is truly a beautiful forest, so make sure to enjoy the bird songs, creek sounds, and other local flora and fauna. With minimal elevation gain, this is a great race to go for that PR!

Evergreen Trail Runs was founded in 2010 by Roger Michel and Yumay Chang, who had a vision to create a series of trail races around Washington state. Evergreen Trail Runs continues today as a sister brand to Orca Running, a locally-owned race production company. We look forward to continuing Roger and Yumay's vision for many years to come with a dedication to sustainable race organizing.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Since the vast majority of race costs are incurred prior to a race and are non-refundable, we do not issue refunds for races.

In the event that you are unable to participate in one of our races, you have three options, listed below. Please note that fees apply for all of these options.

1. Defer your entry to the same race in the following year. Please note that requests for deferral must be sent before the Friday on race week (i.e. before Thursday at 11:59pm).
2. Transfer your entry to another runner. This can be done up until the start time on race day.
3. Switch your entry to another Evergreen event with open registration. Please note that requests for race switches must be sent before the Friday on race week (i.e. before Thursday at 11:59pm).
