Overview
This has been swapped to a fatass / group run / FKT attempt. We will leave from the Fort Morgan Boat Launch at 7:30, and start our run at 8:00
From the far west point of Fort Morgan, come run Alabama's longest contiguous stretch of coastline; all the way to Florida! On the beautiful, but brutal soft sands of Alabama's gulf coast, you'll endure the endless, but rewarding trek. Beginning with untouched, driftwood-strewn beaches, much like a place forgotten. All the way to the bustling "Resort-Lands" where children playing will be your most concerning obstacle. The regular beachgoers will have no clue you're in the most pain of your entire life while executing one of your greatest accomplishments: 32 miles on sand!
Course
THERE IS A ONE MILE BEAUTIFUL WALK TO THE OFFICIAL START!
You will start on the far west point of Fort Morgan Peninsula. There are two mandatory bridge crossings. You are not allowed to swim these gaps! In accordance with local laws. These two points are very obvious. The official route is within the mean tidal range of the beach (the farthest waves crash up to). According to Alabama State Law, this area is public land. This rule will NOT be enforced unless you leave the sand entirely, or local authorities interject. Meaning, the entire beach is open for you to find "good" sand to run on. The FKT ends at the Florida State Line, where Flora-Bama bar-venue is.
