About
The last annual Third Circle of Hell is a challenging course over mainly back roads. There are numerous turns, requiring adeptness at route finding, long stretches through remote reaches of the State of Tennessee without available services, requiring the ability to pack adequate supplies, and 24 major climbs, requiring the durability of a mountain goat. The reward is an unforgettable tour of some of Tennessee's least known scenic areas. There are four major Geographical mountain features that will be thoroughly explored: The long Pressure Ridges of upper East Tennessee, thrust up by the Smoky Mountain Orogeny, the Crab Orchard Mountains, the Cumberland Plateau/Sequatchie Valley combo, and the southern extension of Lookout Mountain.
This is the third jewel in the triple crown of last annual Tennessee Journey Runs. If you survive this trilogy, you will truly be ready for anything
Pre-requisites
Must have completed both the Vol State and Heart of the South Journey Runs. This is an advanced event for experienced Journey Runners.
Lodging
We will be housing as many of you as possible at the Hale Springs Inn, Rogersville, the oldest Inn in Tennessee with over 200 years history. This will be the same place where we have the last supper. This is a unique experience, which we wish could be available for all entrants, but there are limited rooms, the overflow will be housed at the Comfort Inn.
The Hale Springs Inn has mostly rooms with a single bed (king or queen) so in order to maximize the number of runners that can stay there we need to designate which entrants are couples. There will be a space on the application to indicate you are able to share a bed with one of the other entrants (specified!) If you each indicate the other on your entry forms, we will pair you in a single bed room at the Hale Springs (if available).
