Memorial day weekend is fantastic weather in the southern Virginia Highlands. Still cool spring mornings and warm sunny afternoons will be guaranteed a good time for camping and camraderie!!
Wandering Runner & TRAIL:30 Present The Virginia Highlands Trail Running Camp!
Think of this as an adults summer camp, except with trail running! We will have 3 nights + 3 full days of planned activities throughout the stunning southern Virginia highlands region.
Three back to back days of trail running in the mountains averaging about 10-12 miles per day max. This will be an intermediate level trail running camp with lots of rocky climbing, stunning views, and memories that will last a lifetime!
No dogs allowed for the weekend unfortunately.
What's Included
Registration includes camping on the TRAIL:30 Firefly mountain property from Friday night until Monday morning. There are showers, toilets, electricity and running water on the property. There is a communal kitchen and refrigerator that can be shared for the weekend.
Depending on your cell phone carrier there is very limited and often zero cell service from the property. This will be a true wilderness and camping getaway experience to unplug from your normal life!!
3 organized group trail runs on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings are included with the package. All of the runs are optional and you are welcome to take advantage of being in the area and getting more miles than we have planned for everyone. Our shortest day will be 9 miles and longest day will be 12 miles. This is a great opportunity if you live somewhere flat to get some climbing and vert in!!
If you rent a tiny cabin you are responsible for bringing your own sheets, blankets, and pillows! The cabins are very simple but have a clean queen mattress.
Interactive map/GPX of the routes each day will be sent to each participant in a handbook prior to the weekend training camp.
Food is NOT included - you are responsible to bring all of your own meals and snacks!
Transportation is also not included - you are responsible for driving yourself to the property and each day we will caravan and carpool to where we will be running.
