The Next Loop 50K • 50M • 100K • 100M – Pinnacle Mountain

Four distances. One course. One question—how far will you go?

Welcome to Pinnacle Mountain State Park for a continuous, loop-based ultra built around one simple idea: every mile matters. Choose from the 50K, 50 Mile, 50 Mile Night Challenge, 100K, or 100 Mile and experience a race where consistent support, smart pacing, and personal determination matter more than complicated logistics.

Every lap follows a scenic 3.5 mile trail loop before returning to the central Start/Finish hub, where you'll find a fully stocked aid station, access to your crew and personal gear, and encouragement from fellow runners.

Choose your Challenge

  • 50 Mile Challenge: 7:00 AM start • 12-hour cutoff
  • 50 Mile Night Challenge: 9:00 PM start • 13-hour cutoff
  • 100K Challenge: 7:00 AM start • 30-hour cutoff
  • 100 Mile Challenge: 7:00 AM start • 32-hour cutoff

Each event uses the same 5K loop course, allowing runners to focus on pacing, nutrition, and endurance rather than complicated logistics. Chip timing records every completed lap, giving runners and crews real-time insight into pacing and progress throughout the race.

Who this race is for: Whether you're running your first ultra or chasing a new endurance milestone, The Next Loop Challenge Series offers four professionally supported trail races designed for athletes who value smart pacing, efficient logistics, and a supportive race atmosphere.

Aid Stations & Crew Support

Every lap returns runners to a fully stocked aid station at the Start/Finish hub, making fueling and hydration simple throughout the race. The aid station offers water, sports drink, chips, cookies, candy, pickles, salted potatoes, and late-night bacon to help keep runners moving through the miles.

Please note that energy gels, chews, and specialty nutrition are not provided. Runners should bring any personal nutrition or electrolytes they prefer.

The centralized layout allows athletes to stage personal gear at the Big Maumelle Pavilion or directly from their vehicle, making shoe changes, clothing swaps, and nutrition adjustments quick and convenient. Family members, friends, crews, and spectators are encouraged to spend the day at the venue and support runners throughout the event.

Pacers are welcome for all distances and are encouraged to help athletes finish safely and confidently. For everyone's safety, all runners and pacers must carry water while on the trail, and headlamps or lights are required from dusk until dawn.

Race Weekend

Race headquarters is located at the Big Maumelle Pavilion inside Pinnacle Mountain State Park, providing a comfortable central hub for athletes, crews, and spectators. The venue features ample parking, covered seating, clean restrooms, lake access, a playground, and plenty of space to stage gear from the pavilion or your vehicle.

Packet Pickup

Friday, July 24 • 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Big Maumelle Pavilion. A race briefing and runner orientation will begin at 6:00 PM, covering the course, trail markings, race procedures, nutrition, pacing strategies, heat management, and an open Q&A session. Whether this is your first ultra or your hundredth, everyone is welcome.

Race Day

Race day packet pickup is available Saturday, July 25 from 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM. Please arrive early to check in, prepare your gear, and be ready for your scheduled start time.

Coachwhip Trail

Course

The Next Loop takes place on a clearly marked 5K loop through Pinnacle Mountain State Park using the Coachwhip Trail system. The course features runnable singletrack, rolling elevation, wooded terrain, and well-maintained trail that remains engaging from the first lap to the last.

Every completed loop returns runners to the central Start/Finish area at the Big Maumelle Pavilion, providing quick access to a fully stocked aid station, personal gear, crew support, and race staff before heading back onto the trail.

The repeatable loop format removes the complexity of point-to-point racing while rewarding smart pacing, efficient fueling, and steady forward progress. Whether you're running your first 50K or pushing through the final miles of a 100-miler, every lap offers another opportunity to reset, refocus, and continue your journey.

The course is fully marked with highly reflective trail markers for both daytime and overnight racing, making navigation straightforward throughout the event. Headlamps or other lights are required from dusk until dawn for runner safety.

Awards

Every finish represents dedication, perseverance, and countless miles earned on the trail. At The Next Loop, we believe every accomplishment deserves recognition.

  • 100 Mile Finishers: Custom finisher buckle
  • 100K Finishers: Custom finisher buckle
  • 50 Mile, 50 Mile Night Challenge & 50K Finishers: Custom finisher medal

Whether you're earning your first ultra finish or adding another buckle to your collection, you'll leave Pinnacle Mountain with a reminder of the challenge you conquered.

Every Mile Matters

At EverFurther, we believe progress deserves to be celebrated. That's why The Next Loop is built around a simple philosophy: every mile you've earned matters.

If your race ends earlier than planned, there are no DNFs. Every completed distance will be officially recorded and reported to UltraSignup, recognizing the effort you've put into every lap. Whether you achieve your goal distance or discover a new personal best along the way, your accomplishment counts.

We're not here to define success for you—we're here to help you discover what's possible one more loop at a time.

Your endurance. No limits. One more loop.
