Close Your Eyes and Imagine
There’s something raw and powerful about standing on top of Stone Mountain as the sky catches fire twice a day. At sunrise, the world feels brand new your lungs fill with crisp air, your legs burn from the climb, and the horizon glows with possibility. By sunset, that same rock turns golden, the day’s grit still on your skin, and you’re reminded why you showed up in the first place: to push, to endure, to witness beauty that only comes to those willing to earn it. This challenge isn’t just miles it’s a front row seat to the earth’s greatest show, carved in sweat and power at the top of the mountain.
Course Terrain
The Stone Mountain Walk-Up Trail is a challenging one-mile ascent gaining approximately 825 feet of elevation on the world’s largest exposed granite monolith. The course features a steady climb over expansive granite slabs that gradually steepen toward the summit, with minimal shade and full exposure to the elements. As runners ascend, you will be rewarded with sweeping panoramic views before descending the same route. Simple yet deceptively demanding, the trail becomes increasingly challenging with each repetition, creating the perfect test of endurance, strength, and mental grit.
Timing Calculations
You will have 36 hours to complete your 36 rotations up and down. You will also have 36 hours to complete the 21 rotations up and down. The same for the relay.
Please note that the clock only stops when the park closes. However you choose to break up your race is your decision, the clock only stops while the park is closed and when you come across the finish line at the completion of your race.

(Mt Everest Basecamp Elevation) Everest Basecamp is a total of 21 miles up (1 mile up ascents) and 21 miles down (1 mile descents) to reach the elevation gain of Everest Basecamp which is about 17,600ft.
We are also offering a relay option that will allow max of 5 people to work as a team to reach the Mt. Everest distance each person must complete a total of 6 ascents minimum to count toward a group finishing the Everest distance together. One person can have more laps than the group but all need a minimum of 6 ascents each.
Only 1 member of the relay team on the mountain at a time will count towards the relay count. A common idea for the relay is each member will rotate through and do 7 total and on the 36 rotation all 5 members go up together to close out the race as a team.
Collectively you will earn a medal prize puzzle that clicks together collectively to show the work that has been accomplished together. You can each have a piece or rotate out who keeps the collective prize of the efforts you all accomplished!
