Tower above the Trail!

Join us for a run through the beautiful Doe Mountain Recreation Area, located just minutes from Mountain City, Tennessee. With a variety of terrains and stunning views, it’s an event you won’t want to miss. All participants will have the chance to climb the 60-foot Kettlefoot Fire Tower and enjoy 360° panoramic views spanning Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. Whether you're an experienced trail runner or a beginner, the Kettlefoot offers an unforgettable challenge. This is a USATF sanctioned event.

Registration

Registration is on Ultrasignup. There will be no paper registration. Your registration fee covers the use of the facility, aid stations, a finisher award, and post-race food.

T-shirts: In an effort to keep entry fees as low as posssible, t-shirts are an add-on option.

Refunds, Transfers, & Deferrals
-No refunds.
-You may transfer your registration to another runner (to be used in the same year) until May 22, 2027. No exceptions beyond this date.
-Pregnancy/Postpartum deferral: You may defer your entry for a maximum of 2 years in accordance with Trail Sisters Approved standards. No other deferrals allowed.

50K

~5,500 feet elevation gain (+/-)
10.5 hour cutoff

50K runners will run the 25K loop twice.

25K
~15 miles
~2,750 feet elevation gain (+/-)
7.5 hour cutoff

13K
~8.8 miles
~1,600 feet elevation gain (+/-)
4 hour cutoff

*A note on course elevation stats: we have seen runner data measuring anywhere from 2,500 feet on the 25K loop (5,000 for the 50K) to 2,750 feet (5,500 feet). This course has plenty of climbing. Plan for the higher range and be pleasantly surprised if your watch shows less.

Saturday, June 5, 2027
5:30 - 7:00 AM: Runner check-in and packet pickup. 13K runners may also check in after the 50K & 25K start.
7:30 AM: 50K & 25K start
9:00 AM: 13K start
1:00 PM: All 13K runners must be finished
3:00 PM: All 25K runners must be finished
6:00 PM: All 50K runners must be finished (see Course Info on the website for intermediate cutoff times)

Volunteers

Volunteers will receive a t-shirt and post-race food in addition to our unending gratitude.

Lodging

Doe Mountain Recreation Area is located near Mountain City, Tennessee. There are numerous short-term rental options within Johnson County (VRBO, AirBNB, etc.).

DMRA is approximately 20 minutes from Damascus, Virginia, 30 minutes from Boone, North Carolina, and 60 minutes from Johnson City and Bristol, Tennessee.

Please contact the race director if you are interested in camping on DMRA property (vehicle camping only).
