Course Description
5k Follow the WHITE and RED arrows and painted lines (the 5k route is the same between the 5k race and the One More Hill Challenge)
5 Milers follow the ORANGE Arrows and painted lines
Come spend a morning with us enjoying God's creation on Cahaba Mtn (circa 1889) in the tail end of the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountain range. Runners, Ruckers, and Hikers are all welcome!
The 5k route is as close as you can get to the Original Husky Challenge XC Course with where we are starting and with what parts of the original course are remaining. The infamous "THE HILL" is included on this course, so just know that there will be one solid climb coming into the event. The 5 Mile course is a single 5 mile loop, of technical single track trail.
The start and finish is in the parking lot of the Trussville Senior Citizens Center. Roughly 90% of the route is on the trails. There are multiple switch backs, elevation changes, and changes in terrain throughout the course.
There will be one aid station near the halfway mark, and one at the start finish area. Trail shoes or hiking boots are highly recommended (depending on your pace group) because there are roots and rocks aplenty throughout.
There is a cap off of 150 competitors total between all 3 races.
Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup will be at the start finish area the morning of the race starting at 5am for the One More Hill Challenge Runners, which begins at 6am and you have 4 hours to run as many laps as you are able. The 5k and 5 Mile packet pickup begins at 6:45am the morning of the race.
5k bibs and 5 mile bibs will be different colors.
All One More Hill Challenge Runners will receive a dog tag that they will carry with them and punch a hole in for each lap that they complete.
