Welcome To Blood Root Ultra!

The Bloodroot Ultra returns to Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, Vermont, June 23–26, 2027, as part of the Spartan Summer Farm Experience — a week of original Spartan Founder events held at the birthplace of some of the hardest endurance challenges in the Spartan world.

Founded by Joe De Sena in 2007, Bloodroot Ultra is the original Spartan Trail race. Set in the foothills of the Vermont Green Mountains, this rugged ultra-distance event invites athletes to take on challenging terrain, steep climbs, and the raw beauty of the Green Mountain National Forest.

With multiple distances available — including the 10M, 50K, 50M, 100M, and 200M — Bloodroot Ultra offers a true test for runners looking to push beyond comfort, discover their limits, and experience the spirit of Spartan endurance at Riverside Farm.

Registration includes an event t-shirt and Finisher Medal.

Pacers and Drop Bags

Bloodroot Ultra is built around self-accomplishment, self-reliance, and the individual challenge of moving through the course under your own power. The use of pacers is not consistent with the spirit of this race.

Pacers are not allowed for any Bloodroot Ultra distance.

Drop bag access will be available by distance as follows:

50M: Drop bag access at miles 0, 30, and 40.
100M and 200M: Drop bag access approximately every 10 miles.

Additional drop bag instructions, labeling requirements, and race-week logistics will be provided in the official athlete guide before the event.

Do not litter.
Do not cut the course.
