Welcome to the birth of the Black Barn 200
What an epic undertaking to cover 200 miles on foot. The sense of accomplishment and glory of knowing that you achieved something that most people can't even begin to comprehend. The 200 mile race is the new unknown distance for many ultra runners. It has gotten so hard to enter one of these events just to find out what you are made of. The problem is that 200 mile races fill up fast, they are extremely expensive, they require a highly capable crew and a shit ton of logistics and ancillary expenses on your end. Welcome to the very first Black Barn 200
The Black Barn 200 was created so people could test their limits in a 200 mile run and see if they had what it takes to go the distance while minimizing the downsides.
Our 200 Mile Course is a 3.2 mile loop with minimal elevation change. We have one giant aid station where you can get everything you need.
Because of this...
- You can do this race with or without a crew to support you.
- You don't need to carry as much with you on the course
- We can have a much larger, better staffed and supported central aid station
- You can test your limits without testing the patience of your family and friends
- If you have a crew, they will be able to get some sleep since they don't have to rush to and from each aid station to meet up with you.
- This race costs less than half of many other 200's
Bad Assery
Wouldn't it be cool if you had a video documentary of you doing the hardest, most epic thing you have ever done?
Every single Black Barn 200 Runner will get their journey documented and turned into a badass cinematic mini-documentary of their 200 mile attempt. Whether you finish or not, the good, the bad and the beautiful will be captured and turned into something that you can post on your own social platforms and keep forever to remember what you went through and what you accomplished. (side note from the Race Director... On a whim, I paid to have my first ever 100 mile attempt filmed and turned into a mini documentary and it is something I really cherish. Every time I see it, I am instantly brought back to the moment and reminded how lucky we are to be able to do this. I want that to be something that every participant gets to have. And I want it to be at no extra cost)
