wolf river refuge trailhead

Memphis, TN Half Marathon, 7 Miler

Registration Opens Fri. Aug 7, 2026 @ 12:00 PM CT

Race Information

The Forest 7 Miler & Half Marathon takes place on Saturday, December 12, on the scenic Wolf River Trails, the same trail system used for the Mamba 100. Runners will enjoy smooth, flowing singletrack through a beautiful winter forest, featuring mostly flat, fast, and highly runnable trails in the heart of Memphis.

From first-time trail runners to seasoned ultrarunners, the Forest offers an unforgettable experience for every skill level. Generous cutoff times, fully stocked aid stations, and a fun winter atmosphere make this a great race to stay active through the colder months while enjoying some of the best trails in the Mid-South.

The Forest also serves as an excellent preview of the Mamba 100. While the Mamba 100 showcases the Wolf River Trails during peak fall with colorful leaves covering the forest, the Forest race gives runners a chance to experience the same course just a few weeks later as the trails transition into early winter. The Half Marathon follows the Mamba 100 route with a shortened section removed to create the official 13.1-mile distance, while the 7 Miler highlights some of the most scenic and enjoyable sections of the course. If the Mamba 100 is on your bucket list, the Forest is the perfect opportunity to become familiar with the course before race weekend.

Race Day Information

This is a cupless race, so please bring your own handheld bottle, hydration vest, or other method of carrying water.

Follow all orange ground flags and course markings, keeping the flags on your right side.

There are two sections of the course where runners will travel in both directions, so you may see flags on both your right and left. One section is near the Bridge Aid Station, and the other is near the Wolf River Bridge on the Half Marathon course.

A fully stocked Aid Station will be located around Mile 3.5 of the 7 Miler. Half Marathon runners will also have a second fully stocked Aid Station around Mile 8.5.

The Start/Finish Line Aid Station will be fully stocked with hot and cold food, water, sports drink, music, and plenty of post-race refreshments.

Please wear your race bib on the front of your body so our photographer can easily identify you and capture your race photos throughout the course.

All participants will receive a custom Forest finisher medal at the finish line
