Race Overview

The West Texas Ultra is a 10K, 25K, 50K, and 50 Mile trail run held at the Lake Meredith National Recreation Area in the rugged landscape of West Texas. Featuring a remote yet scenic dirt single-track course. The race follows 30 miles of unique trails beginning and ending in Fritch TX at the South Turkey Creek Trailhead.

Course Overview

- Surface: Single Track Dirt Trail.
- Course: South Turkey Creek Trailhead Course Map
- Elevation: Rugged hills and climbs with approx. gains and loss of 4500ft for the 50M.
- Location: Lake Meredith National Recreation Area
- Weather: Historic Average shows 45-70 degrees.
- No Cup Race: We don't serve cups, please make sure to bring your own water-carrying system!
- Pacer: Only 1 Pacer Per Runner and only allowed for 50M on the last lap(Sign Up)

Texas Ultra Series

This series spans all across Texas. All the finisher medals from each race combine to make the Lone Star of Texas. (see 'website' for pictures of the finisher medals)

You can save 20% on the 2027 Texas Ultra Series by registering for a Series Pass

The Top 7 Males and Top 7 Females that run the farthest distance of a Texas Ultra race will qualify for the Big Texas Ultra 100K Championship near Austin TX for a chance to win thousands of dollars and the Big Texas Ultra Champion Title.

4PM to 6PM Early Packet Pickup + Texas Outlaw Running Pop Up Store
6PM - 10K Friday Night Race
6PM - 10K RUCK (25lb minimum)
9PM - Cutoff (3 Hours)

Schedule - Saturday
6AM to 8AM - Packet Pickup
7AM - 50M/50K START
7:30 AM - 25K START
8:00 AM - 10K START
8:30 PM - Cutoff Time (13.5 Hours)

OUTLAW MEMBERSHIP

Most runners who do one Outlaw race end up doing several a year. If you already know this won’t be your last, check out Outlaw Membership. Pay once, get race credits you can use on eligible Outlaw events all year, plus member-only perks and priority access on select races. You still register through RunSignup/UltraSignup like normal, but members use special codes at checkout so their entries are covered. If you’re planning 3 or more races this season, it usually pays for itself on your way to the start line.
