Ready to challenge yourself this winter? Sign up for the full Cobra Den Winter Trail Series and experience all four races while saving money compared to registering for each event individually. The series begins with the longest distances and gradually builds toward faster, shorter races, giving you a unique challenge throughout the winter. Earn points at every event, compete for the overall series championship, and stay motivated all season long as you test yourself against the best on the trails.

Short Series / Long Series

Short Series - 4 races: 5k, 10k, 5 miler, 7 miler
Long Series - 4 races: 10k, 8 miler, 10 miler, 1/2 Marathon

Cobra Den Winter Series Schedule

The Cobra Den Winter Series features four winter trail races held throughout the season at Shelby Farms Park. All races begin at 8:00 AM and alternate between the Wolf River Trails and Tour de Wolf trail systems.

We hope you'll join us this winter as we explore two of the premier trail systems at Shelby Farms Park while earning points throughout the Cobra Den Winter Series.

Shirts, Weather, Awards

Race Shirts
All participants will receive a short-sleeve tri-blend race shirt (while supplies last). Shirts are soft, lightweight, and designed for both running and everyday wear.

Awards
Age group awards will be presented at all four races in the following divisions:
0–9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ for All races
Overall male and female awards will also be presented.

Weather Policy
The safety of our runners, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. In the event of lightning or other severe weather, the race start may be delayed until conditions are safe. If severe weather is expected to continue throughout the day, or if snow and ice create unsafe trail conditions, we may be forced to postpone or cancel the event.

Our goal is always to hold the race on its scheduled date. If conditions prevent that, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the event whenever possible.

Registration Policy
There are no refunds, deferrals, race credits, or friend/family transfers for any entry.
Race shirts and finisher medals will not be mailed to participants who are unable to attend. Any remaining race shirts will be donated after the event.

Packet Pickup and Race Time

Race Start & Packet Pickup

All four Cobra Den Winter Series races will start at 8:00 AM.

Series Packet Pickup:
Friday, December 11 from 3:00–5:00 PM at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead.

At this packet pickup, you will receive all four race bibs for the entire Winter Series. Each race will have a different bib, so please make sure you wear the correct bib for each race.

For the Monocled, Arabian, and Anchieta races, there will not be packet pickup on Friday before the race. Race-morning packet pickup will open at 7:00 AM for anyone who still needs to pick up their bib.

All races start at 8:00 AM.

Can’t make it to the races in person? Join the Cobra Den Winter Series Virtual Challenge and complete all four races from wherever you are!

The Cobra Den Winter Series includes four races throughout the winter:

Forest 7 Miler / Half Marathon
Monocled 5 Miler / 10 Miler
Arabian 4 Miler / 8 Miler
Anchieta 5K / 10K

Virtual participants can complete their chosen distance anywhere they like during each race weekend. Run on roads, greenways, treadmills, or trails, then submit your results online.

Virtual results are separate from the official in-person race results and are not eligible for overall or age-group awards.
