About the event
Deer hunting season will be over, so let’s get together for some fun! Kick off the year with a fun point-to-point “20k” trail run on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. Run with a group from the gate at Falls Dam to the Bayleaf Church Road trail crossing, or on your own. There will be an aid station halfway at the end of Possum Track Road and at the finish. Wanna get wild? Do the Super Squirrel and go out and back.
This is a FREE aka Fat Ass event. Donations are appreciated. Space is limited for parking, so entries will be capped at 100 for 2027.
Notes on the Course
1. There are 4 sections: Dam to Raven Ridge (3.5m), Raven Ridge to Possum Track (2.5m), Possum Track to Possum Track aka Awesome Possum (3m), Possum Track to Bayleaf Church Rd (3m).
2. Aid station with water at end of leg 2 (Possum Track Rd)
3. You hit main roads twice. Raven Ridge at end of leg 1 and Possum Track at end of leg 3. Take a right both times and hug the road until you see the trailhead. Then go right into the woods. Use the Strava route or FarOut / AllTrails for guidance.
4. Always follow the white blaze of the Mountains to Sea Trail
5. If the Falls dam parking lot by the gate is full, there is a big parking lot across the street.
6. This is a fun run aka unofficial. It’s rain or shine and also a Strava Challenge. So if you don’t like the weather, do it on your own time. Run at your own risk and use the buddy system!
