Spring Awakening Backyard Ultra and Relay
Backyard Ultra 6,12, 24 and Relay!
The spring equinox is calling! Come test yourself against the forces of light and dark in an event unlike any you have done before.
Individuals can choose a 6hour (25miles), 12hour (50miles), or 24hour (100mile) option. The 6hour section can be completed at anytime during the 24hour event, while the 12hour particpants will choose between 12 hours of light (7:14am-7:14pm) or 12 hours of dark (7:14pm-7:14am).
If a relay is more your vibe, you can enter with up to 8 members on your team. As long as someone from your team completes each yard, you are good to go! It’s up to you how you structure and execute your team plan.
Logistics
The race will be begin at sunrise (7:14am) and each runner will have exactly one hour to complete the 4.167 mile island center forest loop course. If a runner fails to return within the hour, they are eliminated from the race. Runners can complete the course at whatever pace they choose, but they MUST finish the loop and be at the starting line to start the next race within 60 minutes. A new race will begin every hour on the hour (8:14am., 9:14am., 10:14am. and so on…) for up to 24hours. If a runner fails to make it to the start line at the top of the hour, that runner is eliminated.
The start/finish area, aid station, portajohns and team tent space will all be in the field behind O-Space (18870 103rd Ave SW). There will be space to have your own individual setup of tents, chairs, cooking supplies, etc. Runners are allowed a crew but no pacers are allowed on course.
