Last Person Standing
Team Foster's 2nd Annual Last Person Standing is a backyard ultra where runners tackle a 4.16-mile loop every hour, on the hour. Finish the loop before the next hour begins and you're back on the starting line for another. Miss the start of the next loop, even by one second, and you're out. The cycle continues until only one runner remains. Last year's winner completed more than 125 miles!
Whether you're new to endurance running, a seasoned ultrarunner, or simply chasing a new personal record, you'll venture into uncharted territory, pushing far beyond what you thought was possible. Every loop is a battle against fatigue and the clock. Every runner will be forced to confront their limits... and those who keep coming back to the start line will discover just how far they can go.
This is a self-supported event, meaning each runner is responsible for their own nutrition, hydration, gear, and recovery throughout the race. Every runner will receive a 10' x 10' space in The Village to set up their personal aid station. The first 100 registered are in! After that, we will open a waiting list. The miles are coming. The challenge is real. And once you’re in, there’s no turning back.
All proceeds benefit Team Foster, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in honor of CPT Erick Foster. The mission: Veterans. Service Dogs. Community. www.TeamFoster.org.
Here are the rules!
Follow the rules. Miss one, and you're done.
Participants complete a 4.1-mile loop every hour, on the hour. Once you finish a loop, the remaining time in that hour is yours to rest, refuel, and recover before the next start.
If you don't make it back to the toe line before the next hour begins, you're out.
If you miss an hourly lineup, you cannot jump back into the following line-up. Once you miss a lineup, you cross your name off the LPS Flag and walk away.
Last Person Standing is an unsupported effort. This means no unregistered runners or support people are permitted on the course after the race has begun. Any support you are receiving must stay at the start line or the village area
Please, please, please leave this space and course better than you found it. This means carrying your trash with you and disposing of it at your camp site or in a trashcan.
You talk about Last Person Standing (please share about Team Foster with your networks and beyond – you never know what life changing services may reach someone because of you.)
