Description & History
Treat yourself to a race that embodies everything we love about rugged New England running! You’ll travel a doubletrack trail along streams, through a swamp, over wooded banks, past scenic foliage vistas, and cross the finish to do it again (and again and again…).
From 1986 to 2023, this course was home to the Bogburn ski races hosted by Bob Haydock. The Bogburn Ultra will continue this tradition of endurance racing and honor the Haydocks’ and neighbors’ land stewardship and countless hours of trailbuilding.
Format
Course involves a 3.8 mile loop with approximately 570ft of gain per lap.

The runner with the most laps in the time provided wins. Runners must begin their final lap before the 6 hour or 12 hour cutoff to have it counted. Any lap started before the cutoff will count toward your total distance. In the event that multiple runners are on the same final lap, the first to complete that lap will be declared the winner.
This time based format allows for a wide range of experiences: you could set your sights on reaching your furthest distance or you could do a couple laps and enjoy the vibes!
Prizes
Prizes will go to non-binary, female, and male first place individuals. Prizes include homemade pies & trophies. We’re not here for exorbitant entry fees or big cash prizes. We believe in keeping trail running accessible, celebrating participation over podiums, and building a community around the simple joy of being out on the trails together.
Logistics
Parking is available in the field across from the race course. Volunteers will be on Skyline Drive helping to direct vehicles. Tents/tables can be set up at the start/finish area for athletes and crew to arrange any food, drink, and supplies that they might want for the day. Grilled cheeses will be provided along with water and light snacks.
