New Distances! 5K & 10K
New in 2027! We're expanding Salmon Falls to include more runners with 5K and 10K trail distance options. Both races will start from Folsom Point and end at Browns Ravine. 10K starts at 10:00 AM, 5K starts at 10:10 AM.
A complimentary runner shuttle is included for 5K & 10K runners from the finish line at Browns Ravine, leaving at 9:15 AM sharp.

Course Update: 2025 & Beyond
In 2025, due to levee construction in the final mile of the original Salmon Falls 50K course between Browns Ravine and Folsom Point, we were forced to make some changes to the course. These changes were so well-received by runners and our team, we're making them permanent for the foreseeable future. The changes to note are:
~ Finish line for both distances at Browns Ravine
~ Addition of Salmon Falls Ranch trails to the 50K course
~ Half marathon start line at Sweetwater Trail parking lot

Refund Policy
We are a non-profit and proceeds from the race benefit Breakthrough T1D. We offer a 50% refund through January 27, 2027. Sorry, no rollovers, deferrals or exceptions.
Race Swag
All finishers will receive a finisher medal, locally made in El Dorado Hills. 50K runners will receive a premium quarter-zip pullover (new since 2026!) with the race logo and gender-specific sizing. Half Marathon runners will receive a lightweight quarter-zip pullover (new since 2026!) with the race logo and unisex sizing.
To guarantee your quarter-zip pullover size, please register by January 27, 2027.
Shuttle
A complimentary shuttle to the start line is included in your registration. Shuttles leave from Browns Ravine in El Dorado Hills at:
6:15 am for the 50K
8:00 am for the Half Marathon
9:15 am for the 5K & 10K
Start Time
50k: 7:30am from the Magnolia Ranch Trailhead Parking Lot. The Magnolia Parking Lot is located off Hwy 49 in Pilot Hill.
Half Marathon: 8:45am from the Sweetwater Trail parking area, located on Salmon Falls Rd.
10K: 10:00am from Folsom Point.
5K: 10:10am from Folsom Point.
Race Aid
The 50K course features six (6) fully stocked aid stations, plus a self-serve water station at roughly mile 25 of the 50K. In addition to water and electrolyte drink, we will have sodas, gels, fruit, chips, and other "Ultra" racing food. Specifics are highly dependent on availability, and will be included in the pre-race email sent out race week. There is no aid on the 5K & 10K courses, but there will be food and water at the finish.
Race Cut Off
The final cut-off time for the race is 4:30 PM, giving runners 9 hrs (17+ min per mile pace) to finish. There will be intermediate cut-offs along the course, click here for more info. The half marathon will adhere to the same cut-off times as the 50K.
Awards
Every runner who completes the race will receive a finisher medal.
Overall Male and Female for each distance will receive a custom award.
There will be a custom award for the "DEAD LAST" runner in the 50K at the event.
Top three male and female in each 10yr category in 50K & Half Marathon will receive
an age group award.
