The Wasatch Yard 2027
We're back at Round Valley Quinn's Trailhead in Park City on Friday, October 15, 2027 at 6:00 PM Mountain Time. Come run a few loops or see how long you can stay in it.
How it works
Run 4.167 miles every hour, on the hour. Finish in under 60 minutes and be in the starting corral when the bell rings. Whatever time you have left is yours to eat, rest and get ready. No early starts or banking time.
Miss the bell or the cutoff and you're out. The last runner to finish one more loop than everyone else wins. Everyone else gets a DNF. The final non-winner who finishes the last shared loop earns the assist. Make it through 24 loops and you've run about 100 miles.
All crew help and aid stay in the start/finish yard. No help on course and no pacers. We'll log each completed loop by hand.
Course & gear
The loop covers mixed terrain at Round Valley and will be marked with flags, signs and reflective markers for the night.
Bring a headlamp from the first loop, plus a backup light and batteries. October nights in Park City can get cold, so pack warm layers and be ready for frost and big temperature swings.
Bring your primary calories and bottles or soft flasks. This is a cupless event. Keep your gear in one labeled bin in the yard, and bring a chair and whatever helps you get ready for the next loop. There's no onsite power, so bring battery packs.
A few things to know
Please carpool and aim for one car per runner and crew. Parking is at the Round Valley Quinn's Trailhead lots, with overflow signed if needed. Keep driveways and trail access clear, stay on the marked course, and clean up after yourself.
If you need help on course, stop, alert the next runner and have it reported at the yard. Don't rely on cell coverage. The course or schedule may change for safety.
Final packet pickup, check-in, briefing, awards and swag details will be shared before the race. Watch for the race-week email with the parking map, course GPX and weather updates.

If the entry fee is a barrier, please reach out. We have a limited number of free and reduced-fee entries for Park City residents, plus options for runners facing financial hardship or from groups underrepresented in trail running.
