Savannah Rails to Trails Tribute

Savannah Rails to Trails 50k|25k

Run 4 a Reason | Rough Runners Inc. is excited to bring back fan favorite, Savannah Rails to Trails 50k|25k in 2024! This popular race was retired back in 2016 after Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc on the Historic McQueen’s Island trail which happens to be the state of Georgia’s first official rails to trails. The trail has been renovated and open to the public again. So we are bringing a race that brought ultra running to Savannah, GA, and making a big impact in the local running community by helping in the restoration of the trail.
Please join us November 2nd for the renewal of the Savannah Rails to Trails 50k|25k!

The race will not only have you running the Savannah Rails to Trails but also will take you through beautiful Fort Pulaski National Monument!

Expect the same great course, beautiful swag and a rich history of Savannah’s coastal environment!

Course

Starting in Ft. Pulaski, The course winds through the historic park on trails consisting of dirt, roots, field, gravel, a little road, and probably some wet areas. It continues out of the park, across the bridge and down and back McQueens Island rail trail. It is a loop course.
The course may be flood dependent. The course is 15.58 miles. (but maybe diverted depending if there are flooded areas) 50k option will complete the course twice.
There is an 8 hour cutoff.

Rules

50k runners must complete one loop within 4 hours. If they cannot they will be automatically dropped to the 25k and have an unofficial finish result.
Cutting course will disqualify runner.
Unsportsmanlike conduct will disqualify runner.
Knowingly littering and/or leaving trash behind after race will disqualify runner and result in fines from the park.
