Savannah Rails to Trails Ultra 2016

Welcome to the 4th Savannah Rails to Trails Ultra!
The race will start and end in Ft. Pulaski National Monument.

This year's course spans a 7.75 mile loop that begins in Ft. Pulaski, takes you around Cockspur Island and then leaves the Ft. behind and enters the McQueen's Island trail (Rails to Trails) where you will follow it for 1.75 miles before the turn around and then, head back to Fort Pulaski.

The distances offered for this event are 50k, 25k, 12k and 50k relay.
The McQueen's Island Historical Trail (RTT) and Ft. Pulaski are two very beautiful locations to run! Once you run Savannah's Rails to Trails you'll see why we so desire to save it!.

Awards will be given to the First Place Female and Male of each race along with the runner ups of each race: 12k, 25k, 50k.
Medals will be given to All Finishers of the 50k, 25k, 12k, 50k relay races. We make one request though, - Run Hard, Run Strong for which ever event you go after!

Location: Ft. Pulaski National Monument, Savannah, Ga. 31410
Course: 7.75 mile loop
Events: 50k, 25k, 12k, 50k relay (4 person)
Races start at 8:00 am sharp.

Parking for the event will be on the premises of Ft. Pulaski by the pine forest picnic area. Please do not park in front of the old fortress. The parking spots in front of the old fortress are for people visiting that monument. Racers will have designated parking near the start/finish of the race.
Average temperature around Ft. Pulaski/Savannah/Tybee Island in January is between 40* and 60*. Please monitor the weather as we get closer to race day to determine what racing attire to wear.

Race Course
The course is 7.75 miles. The 25k runners will run this course 2 times and the 50k runners, 4 times. 12k runners once.

There are going to be 2 aid stations on the course, both will be manned with water and ultra yummies.
1. Main Aid Station 1: at the start/finish. Provisions: food, gels, water, restroom available. Volunteers will be available to assist runners with filling up water bottles and such.
2. Aid Station 2: Will be located on Ft. Pulaski Blvd just as runners exit the dykes.
