Race Info for the Certified Courses
The course is a fast USATF Certified Course - great for PRs and Boston Qualifying efforts.
This race takes place on the flat and scenic paved Tanglefoot Trail®. Runners will head north on the trail for 6.56 miles before turning around to head south back to the start. Half marathon runners will cross the finish line at this point to complete their race. Marathon runners will turn around and complete another out and back on the course to complete the marathon.

Race Start/Finish: The race start/finish is at the intersection of the Tanglefoot Trail and Industrial Drive near 202 Industrial Drive Houston, MS. I note that the start/finish is a quarter mile west of N Jackson Street which is the main north/south road through Houston.
Saturday Night Packet Pickup: Saturday night packet pickup and race registration will take place at the race start/finish from 6:00-7:00PM. Runners who pick up their race packet or sign up for the race on Saturday night receive an Altis pint glass.
Race Morning Packet Pickup: Race morning packet pickup and last minute registration is from 6:45-8:00AM race morning at the start/finish.
Marathon Start Time: 7:30AM
Half Marathon Start Time: 8:00AM
Miscellaneous: Please parallel park on the side of Industrial Drive. There is plenty of parking at the race start/finish. This is a small race. There is no need to be concerned about getting to the start/finish early to get a good parking spot. Runners can leave a bag/key/shirt at the start/finish if desired. The trail will be open to the public during the race. Please be respectful of other trail users. Thanks in advance to the great race volunteers from Houston High School! Course info is on the race web page. The usual ultra trail food will be provided at the aid stations, ie. cookies, chips, water, and gatorade. 36 runners are entered in the marathon and 20 runners are entered in the half; more runners will enter. If you will need more than seven hours to run the race please email Mike to discuss an early start. Start temp is forecast to be in the high 50s with temperatures rising into the 70s in the afternoon with possible showers. There will be two port-o-lets at the start/finish and two port-o-lets on the course, ie. halfers will pass a port-o-let four times during the race and marathoners will pass a port-o-let nine times during their run.
