This year is the 9th year running, so come celebrate 9 years of one of Washington's most scenic Marathons and Half Marathons. The Winthrop Marathon and Half Marathon is in sunny and scenic Winthrop, WA where the sun shines more than 300 days out of the year! The net-downhill course is an excellent Boston qualifier with unique medals for all finishers and a catered post race meal. What more could you ask for?!
Courses
Starting on the edge of the of the Pasayten Wilderness in the Okanogan National Forest at an altitude of 3100ft the marathon course loses 1000ft in the first 10 miles as it follows the wild Chewuch River to the "western" Town of Winthrop. In all, the marathon loses 1450ft and gains just 150ft for a net loss of 1300ft. The half marathon, which begins at the half way point in the marathon course, loses 520 feet and only gains 130 for a net loss of almost 400ft.
