Description
This is the 4th annual Mountain Deux! An aquathlon (run, swim) or "dash n splash" event that is perfect for youth through adult. The Mountain Deux is hosted by the Mountain Springs Swim Club and the Land Trust of North Alabama. The run portion of the race starts at the Land Trust's historic Three Caves (a former limestone quarry) and will run on the Land Trust trails, culminating with a swim in the salt water pool at Mountain Springs Swim Club. There will be different routes and distances based on age, the oldest racers running at 7am.

Note that parents are welcome to run alongside their young racers as a "running buddy." The "running buddy" does not need to register, but will not be allowed to participate in the swim portion of the race (kick-boards are available for use), and will not receive a T-shirt or finisher medal. To receive a T-shirt, adults must register and race in the 15+ category or sign up as a volunteer. Parents are encouraged to volunteer as "trail monitors" if they wish to stand along the trail to cheer on the young racers.

NEW THIS YEAR: We are offering a Relay option. If you want to partner up with a friend, one person can run while the other person swims. Each relay partner must register (choose swimmer or runner option) and sign the waiver. Check out our website for more details.
