What the...

A "Night Op" or "Night Ops" is a standard term used by SEALs defining the general timeline of an operation, be it training or real world. SEALs are friends of the darkness and embrace it's cloaking advantage. Things change at night... trees whisper differently, creatures eyes fill the trail, nature's nighttime orchestra at times is sensory deafening. Can you conquer the night?

Description of the event

The SEAL: Adventure Race Series the most physically demanding 10k, 5k, 20k now 8k races in the Southeast. Take it up a notch with our SEAL: Night Ops 8k – A Day into Night 8k with Mountains, Creeks, Ponds, Obstacles, More! This is a race destination…we can’t bring Mother Nature’s challenges and beauty to a farm or park near you! This is a difficult, two lap day into night course designed to challenge participants both physically and mentally. Runners continually rank the difficulty of our SEAL events FAR beyond other popular adventure races. This is not smoke and mirrors…this is no hype… this is the real deal. Pre-registration field is limited to 200… you are not just a number, or one in a thousand or so runners with us… you become family at this one of a kind event. Hosted, developed, and managed by a career retired US Navy SEAL. 65 private acres of jeep, ATV, and hiking trails wind participants through woods, up across mountain tops, slog runners through creeks and ponds and up against natural and man made obstacles such as hop-over walls, log balances, log hurdles, and a near vertical hillside rope climbs. This continues to be a course like no other! Come prepared to get dirty, wet, muddy, sweaty, and tired!

Overview

SEAL:Night Ops 8k - geared to distance itself from other adventure type races based on 1) tough terrain (we can’t bring this to a farm field or park near you), 2) two-lap day into night duration, and 3) your fear of the dark and things that go bump in the night. Lol. This is the last event in a year long SEAL: Adventure Race Series (10k, 5k, 20k, now 8k) and puts a twist on things with a night adventure (twilight start with a night time finish).
