About the Event
The Peach State 300 aims at offering the "hardened and experienced" ultra-runner an opportunity to run through Georgia from the Mountains to the Ocean. The race will start at the Hiker Hostel in Dahlonega and end at (or on top of) the Lighthouse on Tybee Island. The distance should be around 300 miles (...who's counting ?). The exact distance will depend on which route you choose to take. Our only requirement is that you get from point A to point B on foot.
Below is some important information that we think you will find useful.
· Included in the race fee ($50,-) is a shirt and a bed at the Hiker Hostel the night before the race. Leigh has kindly agreed to serve us breakfast at 6am.
· The race will start on Wednesday May, 20th 2015 at 7 am. Each runner will have 5 days to complete the race.
· The precise route from the Hiker Hostel to Tybee Lighthouse is your responsibility.
· Aid, such as water, food, or anything else you may need is also your responsibility.
· There will not be any aid stations or volunteers on the course.
· You are responsible for your own sleeping arrangements and transportation.
· We suggest that you limit access to your crew for safety reasons. Please avoid "rolling aid stations", they are a menace to your own safely and to the safety of others.
· If you do not have a crew we will not provide one.
· If you do have a crew, we are not responsible for their safety.
· Runners are required to stay at the Hostel the night before the race and packets / last minute info and updates will be given out at that time.
· Runners must wear reflective gear or flashing lights at night.
· Race participation is by invite only. If you are interested please contact the RD at rd@peachstate300.com.
We hope that you will join us on this journey and we thank you for your interest. For information on the start location please visit www.hikerhostel.com. Information on the finish location can be found at www.tybeelighthouse.org.
