Ghost Train Trail Race
Welcome to New Hampshire's original 30-Hour 100 Mile Race! Ghost Train started in 2009 and is going strong today as a fundraiser for the Brookline and Milford Conservation Commissions. ALL profits go directly back to the trails to make them more accessible to the community. The course is along the historic Granite Town Rail Trail, where you will race along the old railroad bed that was used in the late 19th and early 20th century to ship granite from Milford and ice from Lake Potanipo in Brookline to destinations in Massachusetts. The rails themselves were removed for scrap metal during World War II, but a few of the railroad ties are still in the ground and can be seen on the trail. Ghost Train leaves the station in mid-October when the local foliage peaks and the trail is bursting with color!
The Races
Ghost Train is proud to offer five races in 2024! Whether you want to run 7.5 miles or 30 hours, we have something for everybody.
30-Hour Ultramarathon
30-Hour 7 Person Relay Race
Haunted Night 30-Mile Race
15-Mile Race
15-Mile Relay Race
All the details about our races can be found on our website and in our Ghost Train Handbook.
We do expect the 30-Hour Ultramarathon to sell out within a day after registration opens. We also expect the 30-Hour 7 Person Relay and the Haunted Night 30-Mile Race to sell out quickly. In the past people on the waitlist could count on getting into the race before October, but 2024 may be the year where we are no longer able to achieve that due to capacity limitations. Please get on the waitlist early if you are on the fence!
