About

Please come celebrate the new 100 mile world record with Ed "The Jester" Ettinghausen. The record is for most 100 mile races in one calendar year. These two 100 mile races should actually be the official record tying # 36, and record breaking # 37 for 2014.

The course is a USATF certified 5K, flat, mostly packed dirt loop around Rohr Park in beautiful Bonita (San Diego), California. Runners will embark on the dirt path until they reach the opposite side of the park, where there is a short cement path until they re-join the dirt path. A short section near the library goes through a parking lot where runner’s vehicles will be parked making it convenient for self-support and personal item retrieval. As runner’s pass through the parking lot area they will head to the main aid station where standard ultra food, water, electrolyte, and awesome volunteers will be located. The course has approximately 50 feet of climbing per loop, so only 1,600 feet of gain for 100 miles and a 32 hour time limit making it the ideal venue for first time 100 miler to achieve their dream of “the buckle” and close out 2014 with a bang!

Not quite up for 24 hours or 100 miler? No problem! There are also options of 12 hours and 6 hours with a morning or evening start option.

The Jester could really use the company and since this is a last minute "special" event more paid entrants will allow for a "break even" of event costs. Volunteers throughout the 32 (and possibly 56) hours are greatly needed and most apreciated.

If you're in the area that weekend but can't run (walk) or volunteer, stop by and say "hi" and join the party. The Jester says he has never taken a single selfie, but wants to take a picture with every single person that does a loop with him. He would love to get 100 pic's!

Come join the ultra party and be a part of Guinness history!

Note: We are also allowing flexible start times for the 12 and 6 hour races so that the most people can participate at this short notice. Join the Facebook group 'Run Jester Run Friends' for more information.
