Las 50 de San Jorge (PR150++)
On January 31, 2014, we ran across Puerto Rico nonstop from the easternmost point in Roosevelt Roads(Ceiba, PR) to the westermost point in Domes Beach(Rincón, PR) with a total finish time of 42.5 hours. We were able to get the attention from the local and international media and also ultrarunners from all over the world. Our main purpose and inspiration to complete this challenge was to raise funds for San Jorge Children's Foundation. The route had a total of distance of 161 miles and an elevation gain of 21,000 feet. We ran again in 2015 and 2016 across Puerto Rico nonstop from the easternmost point in Roosevelt Roads(Ceiba, PR) to the westermost point in Domes Beach(Rincón, PR) with a cut-off time of 60 hours. The route had a total of distance of 185 miles and an elevation gain of 23,000 feet.
We have our fifth edition set for Saturday December 2, 2017 at 6:00AM.
We also have a 50 miler and a 50km run starting in Roosevelt Roads(Ceiba, PR) at the same time as the PR150+. Both events are the same route as PR150+ but finishing in San Jorge Children's Hospital(San Juan, PR). Both events are open for anyone that wants to be part of this fundraiser. If you have completed a marathon before we are sure you can complete 50 miles or at least 50kms! We want to invite anyone interested in joining these events to help raise funds for San Jorge Children's Foundation. The PR150+ will only consider applications from runners that have completed at least three certified 100 mile races and/or are directly invited by the race director. We will publish the official participants of the PR150+ by October 31, 2017.
This event is coordinated with the support of the Department of Sports and Recreation of Puerto Rico.
