East Bank 30M

This early season 30-mile shoreline course follows the east bank of Ross Lake Reservoir. The course winds in and out of creek drainages offering up sweeping views of the North Cascades snowcapped and pristine in their winter’s coat. At Lightening Creek the trail turns east and climbs towards Hozomeen, the jagged peak shadowing the north end of Ross Lake, the Canadian border, and the finish line.

Itinerary
Because of the substantial transportation logistics present in this course, it necessitates a 2-day excursion. Aspire is committed to providing exceptional service and support to ensure an unforgettable experience. The following schedule is a tentative outline of what to expect over the course of the trip.

Friday 13th May

5:00pm---Convene in Burlington WA. I-5 Exit#232. Meet in the parking lot of
Bob’s Burgers and Brews: 9440 Old Hwy 99 N, Bow, WA 98232.
Look for the green Suburban with “Aspire Adventure Running” decals.

5:30. Depart for campsite.

7:00. Arrive camp. Aspire will serve an evening meal, conduct a course overview and orientation, runners pack/prep for an early start.

Saturday 14th May
6am. Wake up. Enjoy a hot pre-run breakfast. Prep and pack for the day’s run.

7:00. Depart for East Bank Trail Head.

7:30. Run. Travel time estimated between 7-10 hours.

1:30-6:30. Arrive Hozemeen. Race bags, personal gear and equipment will all be waiting. Delicious food, drinks, and celebratory meal served.

7:00. Depart for Burlington WA. It’s a 4 hour drive.

11:00. Arrive Burlington.

Gear

Gear Running Gear Each runner should come equipped with a personal running pack/vest, hydration system, water filtration, and personal snacks. Aspire has a selection of bars, gels, electrolytes etc. available, but we also encourage folks to bring foods that they are accustomed to for long runs. Running clothing should include a system that includes, a wind/waterproof jacket and an insulative layer. A bag of post-run clothing options that includes a down/synthetic jacket, wind/water resistant outer layer, dry clothing, and dry shoes. Camping Gear A tent, sleeping bag, pad, and camp clothing suitable for a spectrum of mountain weather. If your travelling from out of town or don’t want to worry about overnight gear, this equipment is available for rent with registration. Detailed gear lists are sent to each runner upon registration.

Aspire Adventure Running

Aspire courses are non-competitive runs that embrace the challenge and adventure of traveling in wild and scenic terrain. In accordance with wilderness land use designations each course is limited a maximum size of 12 participants. On the trail each runner travels the course at their desired pace. Course fees include: transportation from I-5, the safety net of a trail guide, and a post run celebratory meal.

Custom Course

Aspire Adventure Running holds a commercial use authorization with Mt. Rainier National Park, the North Cascades National Park, and the Mt. Baker National Forest. Contact us to design a custom run for you and your running group in some of the best terrain Cascadia has to offer.
