Hallucination Runs Summer Night Series

The Hallucination Runs Summer Night Series was created to allow runners throughout Southern Nevada the opportunity to compete in races of all distances under the glittering stars of Sin City, Nevada. With nightly themed races in June, July and August, runners are able to escape the scorching summer heat and experience the magical effects of running through the desert night. Produced by Vegas-based Beyond Limits Running, the same company that produces the well known Jackpot Ultra Running Festival and other endurance races throughout the Southwest, the Hallucination Runs Summer Night Series is designed to offer an exceptional running experience to runners of all abilities.

Every race in the series offers a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon and an ultra. With races occurring at three different venues across Sin City, pick your favorite event (Twilight & Beyond, Nocturnal Sins and/or Beyond Black & Back) and come experience the joys of night running. Run at least two of the three races and you will also receive a special edition Beyond Hallucinations pub glass to enjoy your favorite nightly beverage. Better yet, for the real crazy insomniac runners who run all three races, you will earn a FREE entry into our 1st Annual Beyond Spooked Halloween race on October 29, 2016.

Like all Beyond Limits Running events, the Hallucination Runs Summer Night Series will provide an over-the-top running experience at an exceptional value. From colorful finisher medals for every runner, along with race specific bling, entertainment and post race parties, each Hallucination Runs event will offer a professional race experience with a heavy dose of fun! So grab your glow in the dark paint and get ready for nocturnally sinful adventures in running this summer.

Beyond Black & Back

Beyond Black & Back is the third and final race in the Hallucination Runs Summer Night Series. Beyond Black & Back offers the following races: 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon and 50K. All races begin and end at Equestrian Park South in the City of Henderson. The course follows the paved asphalt path from Equestrian Park South to the River Mountains Loop Trail. Once on the River Mountains Loop Trail, the course will be run on the paved asphalt portion of the trail that is controlled by the City of Henderson (as highlighted in the course pictures). An out & back format will be used with turn-arounds dictated by race distance. Half Marathons runners will run out 6.55 mile and back 6.55 miles. See the attached Map my Run picture of the course. Marathon Runners will run the course twice, while 50K runners will do the course twice, with an added third lap that will have a shorter turn around. 5K and 10K runners will run on the same course, but obviously turn-around at a shorter distance one time.

The River Mountains Loop Trail showcases the best of the Mojave Desert, from spectacular desert landscape to native wildlife like the desert tortoise and bighorn sheep. While enjoying the River Mountains Loop Trail during the day is certainly fun, running the dark loop at night is a must experience for all runners. Since the trail is mainly away from buildings and modern civilization, it lacks light pollution. Running in darkness without light pollution, views become spectacular as you run Beyond Black & Back. To help runners prepare for their journey into the "Black", glow-in-the-dark body paint will be provided for runners at the start of the race!

Once you've run your specific "Beyond Black & Back" race, you'll end up back at Equestrian Park South where you will join fellow runners for a finishers party with food, drinks & entertainment. In addition to the finishers party, every runner will receive a Beyond Black & Back finisher's medal, Hallucination Runs flashing LED bracelet, Hallucination Runs logo-ed glow in the dark lip balm, and of course some glow tattoos.
